Chapter 30

Sacrifice

I used my darkness shadow to act as a cushion to save me as I reached the floor. Angel followed, wings sprouted out her back and she gracefully swooped down.

"Nice," I smiled.

"It's something I thought of," she said, examining the wings.

I peered down the torch-lit tunnel and bit my lip. We have to finish this, or it would be pointless coming all this way. I took a deep breath and continued on. My darkness shadow morphing into a vague shape of me and walking beside me.

The corridor stretched on for a while then came to a chamber. The chamber was empty and the air felt thick. Two doors led from the chamber. One large red and one large blue.

"So this is where we split up I guess," my sis smiled, filling me with courage.

I nodded and headed for the red door. As I approached it, the smell of blood entered my nose. It can't be... This door can't be painted in blood?!

I felt as if I was going to vomit and pushed the door open, blood stainded my hand and I paled as I stepped through the door into a normal corridor. This time it was lit by lanterns that hung in the air without any support.

I walked behind my shadow figure, cautiously checking for any signs of life. At the end of the corridor, there was another blood red door. It seemed freshly painted, sending bolts down my spine.

This time, my shadow figure opened the door and it opened up to a darkened room with what seemed like a big cage. As my eyes adjusted, I noticed the girls were in there!

I ran up to the cage rattling the bars, "Girls? Are you okay? Where's Palo and Cyrix? And Eric?"

"Eric's dead," I heard a weak voice mumble, "Palo and Cyrix have become dark."

"Where's my Dad?" I asked urgently.

"In the room in the back," I heard one of the girls mumble.

A hand came out through the bars and held mine, "Please, be careful."

I could tell from the feeling of her hand and the gentleness in her voice, it was Tear.

"I promise Tear, but if I have to, I'll give my life to vanquish the evil," I promised.

I let go of Tear's hand and dismissed the shadow figure. It was draining too much of my power. I took a deep breath and pushed the black door open.

"Dad?" I asked into the dark room.

"I see," I heard a voice mumble, "You want to kill me and you don't care if it costs you your life."

The room lit up and I saw my dad standing straight, a grave look on his face.

"Come at me with your pitiful power then!" he smirked.

A smile grew on my face, "Bring it on."

I used my darkness shadow and trandformed it into a sword. I sent more darkness shadow towards Dad's feet. They came out and resumed a form and wrapped around each of his feet before he could react.

I covered my eyes.

"Sorry, Dad. But it ends here. I can't let this continue," I sobbed.

"You don't mean that, do you...?" he asked.

"Dad. I will end what you created, even if it costs me my life," I whispered.

The sword floated into the air and struck my Dad through his heart, the sword sucked up all the darkness inside him. I winced as I felt myself using too much magic.

"Just a little more," I convinced myself.

I grabbed the handle of the sword and pointed the tip upwards. My eyes glowed with darkness as I muttered the ancient spell.

"Tcelloc Kegelapan," I muttered over and over again.

I gritted my teeth from the pain as all the darkness in the surrounding area was piled into me. It was horribly dangerous and painful. My body would never be able to contain so much. But I was the princess of darkness, I could go that little extra.

"Seal!" I commanded as the last of it entered me through the sword.

I panted, pain filling me. It was all over now. The sword turned towards to me, turning an angelic white and stricking me. I coughed up black blood and my vision faded.

I had made my sacrifice. The darkness which posed the greatest threat to my world, had vanished.
