Year 845

"I sometimes wonder what's on the other side of the wall, I've heard of frozen earth, miles of water, fields of sand...........all kinds of things you won't be able to see inside these big cage like walls that "protect" us. From what? Titans, big humanoid brainless creatures that feed on humans. Why? I don't know. We sure don't like them, no one really does in fact. But I do wish that I could get out of these walls and see the real world. The world that no one has ever seen in these centuries......."

I woke up from my desk and yawned a little. The light was streaming in from my windows and cascading down the curtains, was it noon?
What's the date today.
What day was it...oh wait it's Anna's birthday.
ITS HER BIRTHDAY.
I looked down to see the card I was making her, I had write a bunch of stuff in it with all kinds of drawings ahhhhhh I'm so excited to show her.
"Marisa it's lunch!" I heard my sister call out from the kitchen.
I hopped off my chair and went into the kitchen, where the aroma of food got the best of me. There stood my older sister, making some stew. I crept up to her, ready to freak her out, only to find her immediately face me and drill me in the head playfully. I laughed, "Damn, I wanted to get you!" pretending to be annoyed. She smiled and let me go. "If you only you could! You'd never get me!" She said.

I looked at her and sat at the table "Happy Birthday Anna!"
She giggled and said thanks.
"You know, once we have an enough money we can move to a brand new house! Maybe next week or so?" My big sister said as she handed me a bowl of fresh beef stew. I licked my lips, and dug in. "Wow that would be amazing sis!" I said between mouthfuls of stew. She sat down next to me and smiled.

"Oh by the way is it okay for you to go by some vegetables? We are running short," She said as she handed me some money. I nodded, scarfed my food down and stood up from the table.
"Oh and I think since it's my brith day, we should spend more time together, after you come back from the shops we can go to that store on the corner of the street and buy you that book you wanted."
My eyes lit up as I grabbed my coat and scarf then darted out of the cottage. "THANKYOU!"

Anna was my sister. We live alone, together in Shigashina. She works as a tailor and she's very well known for her service.
My memory was a little blurry when I was young so I couldn't remember much except for when I was turned 8, I wondered what happened before that, I always wonder.
I always ask what happened to out parents. But she'd always say that they're on a business trip in wall Sina and won't be coming back any time soon. As fishy as it may sound, I still believed her.

As I neared the central road, I saw many people crowding around there, as if there were some spectacle to observe. Civilians stood at the roads as serval carriages and soldiers on horses road through.
Curious, I decided to take a look.
However as I got there, I realised I was too short to see past the onlookers and could only hear their chatters and the hooves of the horses passing by.
"Excuse me-" I tried to say as I attempted to push past them, but they were too immersed in the scene that they payed absolutely no attention to me and left me stranded between observers.
Frustrated, I spotted a wooden crate behind them and finally got a glance.
Many wooden carriages carrying injured soldiers were being lead down the road while several other soldiers on the front wearing distinct green capes sat on horses.
In the front was a brown/red haired soldier with glasses and beside them was a black haired sullen faced man.

I thought entered my mind. Should I join the military as well?
No, but my sister didn't enter the military and she's fine as a tailor. I was conflicted, why was I even thinking about this mow, I've still got time.

I immediately got bored if the scene and hopped off my crate.
I still has some shopping to do.

The market street was jam packed, with many stores lining the road. All kinds of thing could be bought here, you name it, fruits, vegetables, animals, souvenirs etc.

I thought to buy more things as I saw dozens of fresh fruit laid on the shelves. I waved to a familiars shop owner.

"Hello! How much do these cost??" I asked him. He laughed, "It's on the house!" He said warmly as he grabbed them and put it in my basket. I was surprised. "Oh, uh, no need I have some change here..." I said handing him 3 coins. He stood back and shook his head. "No, no,no! You keep it." He said. We had an intense stare off before we both burst out laughing.

I smiled back at him and thanked him. "AND SAY HI TO YOUR SISTER AS WELL!!" He yelled as I ran to another shop.
The town was warm like it always is, I was very familiar with the shop owners as I traveled to the market place twice a week. They're all very warm hearted and generous.
It was like paradise here. Despite being in the furthest part of the walls, everything was fine.

After what seemed like for ever, I finally had finished buying all the items. As I started to head home, I passed a shop with necklaces and bracelets and stood there, contemplating for a second before I decided to buy some thing. There were colourful beads and jewellery every where. It was hard to choose, so I picked up two necklaces, they both had silver chain , but one had a lock, and the other had a key. This would be great for Anna.

I was a little hesitant at purchasing the items but in the end I literally just shoved coins into the owners hand and darted away almost instantly.
As I turned the corner I decided to stop and catch my breath.
I'll make this the best birthday ever. Anna would be very happy and we'll spend the day doing what we always wanted to do.
I can't wait.

Suddenly I felt am uneasy presence. An ominous feeling found its way into my chest as I raised my head to the walls. Was I imagining it?

I felt a tremor, then there was a flash of lightning and a big silhouette appeared in the smoke.

It was a a huge humanoid creature on the other side of the wall. Peering down at us with its cold eyes.
