Happy new year!

~Marisa~
They confined Eren into some dingy cell after what happened in trost.

The rumour spread like wild fire. Some people rejoiced, some people were frightened and some people were confused. Humanity was divided in the choice in whether this was a problematic situation, or a miracle.

They doubted Eren's control over his titan form after he attacked Mikasa and fell to the other titan, however the case wasn't focused on it but rather solely on the notion that titan shifters exist and are in these very walls.
Others thought that they were rebels and simply wanted to mask and infiltrate the central.

As I sat my self down at the tables I saw Jean quickly walk past us, his face pale.
Confused, I set my rations down band excused my self before heading towards his direction.

I exited out the door to find him on the right side, still walking fast.
I quickened my pace and caught up to him while placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Jean?" I asked, "what's wrong?". He turned around with the same pale face.
"N-nothing," he stuttered.

Something was definitely up.

"Jean tell me, what's wrong?" I pressured.
He did not answer back, but instead put his shaking hand infront if his face.

"I...I killed marco,"

I stood there frozen, words unable to be processed in my mind. My throat dropped to my stomach to the sound of Marco.

"What do you mean?"

"I killed him...I left him alone and he was killed, it's all my fault-"

"Jean! What are you saying?" I said as I shook him.

He looked at me with terrified eyes.

"You don't understand, I did!"

"No, you didn't!"

"I did. Back in trost we were both seperated, I should've went after him, I COULD'VE..."

"Jean, its not your fault!

"It is! It is my fault!"

He kept on mumbling inaudible words as his eyes darted around.
People who were walking by casted us weird looks as they timidly went into the canteen.

"Jean-"

"It was my fault." He said as he suddenly gripped my jacket and dipped his head down. 'It is...it is..."

I had never seen Jean this distraught, it worried me.

I placed my hands on Jeans arm.
"Jean, it is no ones fault. If you want to blame someone, don't burden your self."

"Marco didn't die in vain, he served under the command responsibly, and that's how the mission succeeded."

He did not speak or make eye contact.
As he raised his head I saw tear stains on his face.

Surprised, I took tissues out of my pocket and wiped it for him, which he flinched a bit.

"Okay?" I asked.

He turned away.

"I'm sorry...I...have to go." He muttered as he walked away again.

I gripped my jacket. I wondered if he'd stop bashing himself.
It reminded me a lot of when my sister died.
That's why I was strong on this discussion.
