The way to the docks was painful.
As soon as I exited one area another bunch of  Titans would appear. What is with these creatures?
I was getting exhausted soon, the girl was a bit heavy on my shoulders.
I landed on a roof to rest up for a few seconds. I thought we were in the clear, but I was clearly wrong.
Out of nowhere a titan bashed it's hands onto the roof her were on and instantly dragged it along, towards us. Thousands of and debris flew towards us, I shielded Marisa from the pieces of flying clay and concrete. I saw one heading towards me but I was too slow to react as I suddenly felt a searing pain in my left eye. I felt blood seeping onto my face and dripping down my chin. Crap.
The tiles beneath us collapsed as we fell.
Marisa fell away from me, she was still unconscious and was now heading towards the ground. I released my hooks to either side of the buildings and rocketed towards her.
As she was meters away from the ground, I luckily caught up to her grabbed her. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stop fast enough, we slid towards the ground at a fast speed, I turned my back towards the wall and slammed into it so that she wouldn't get the full impact.
I heard something break in my spine as the brick wall cracked in our collision.
The pain was unbearable as I sat there with a lifeless girl in my arms.

I nearly felt like giving up, but when I make a promise, I will hold on to it.
I trembled as I got up and slung her over my shoulders again.
Nearly there I thought as I held the wall for support and ran out into the clear view of the destroyed town.

~Marisa~
The first thing I felt was the sensation of flying, was I dead? Reincarnated into a bird?
No I was very wrong.
In fact I wasn't even near dead. I opened my eyes to see blood, the soldier from before was carrying me while wounded, was he really saving me?
After all I did...

"You finally awake?"

I wanted to reply, but had no face to do so.
"You're wounded,"
"Just a scratch,"
Lies.
Why is he doing this for me, I was very shocked and confused. I don't deserve to be alive.

We traveled in silence, the boat dock of Shigashina appeared closer and closer until we arrived and I slowly hopped off his back.
The other soldiers there was surprised, like they didn't believe the comrade they ditched was still alive.
I saw a girl with strange grey hair and a little boy at the docks, they looked liked they were on the verge of passing out.

"Marx!" A male voice boomed. The person walked out from behind the soldiers and walked towards him.
"You're alive,"

Marx knitted his eyebrows in disgust as he tried to wipe the blood off his face, but it was clearly smearing.
"Yeah, after all your subordinates fled," he replied.

The man smiled coldly, "Apologies, oh you're hurt let me see that wound," he grabbed his chin and examined the injury by turning his head forcefully.
Marx slapped away his hand.
"Yeh yeh whatever, just get this girl on board,"

The man shook his head, "I'm afraid we can't do that, the boat is full-"
Suddenly he was taken by the collar.
"W-what are you doing?"
"Did you not hear me?"
"But it's full-"
"Look here bastard, you owe me one, what will the committee say after they have known your men ditched the citizens huh?"
The man looked away nervously and sighed.
"Fine, hey little girl come here,"
I slowly walked towards them, my hand gripped in my pockets.

Marx turned away as he walked towards a few soldiers holding kits. I have to repay him, some how.

"Wait!" I called after him. He stopped in his tracks and turned around.
I held out a handkerchief that Anna gifted me when I was young. It was plain but it was all I had.
