As soon as the shortie asked if we were there that day when Shigashina was struck by the titans my memories came back like wild fire.
It wasn't like I forgot everything in the past, but it was more like me trying to forget THEM.
Flashes of my sister lying in the ground surged through my mind. I could still feel how helpless I was when I was taken away from her.
I could still feel the smoke and the smell of chaos. I could still hear the screams and shouts of people on the streets as they were inevitably killed by the Titans.
And I could still remember him.
"Yeh, I was, but it doesn't matter, it's in the past now," I said, my throat felt so heavy I thought I had swallowed a huge stone.
There was a moment of silence. Suddenly the freckled guy decided to break the ice, "Connie, I don't think it's a good idea to bring up that day,"
Thank god for freckled Jesus.
I gave him a nod of gratitude and continued to stare into the afternoon.
"Yeh, sorry for asking," said the bald headed guy.

I sat in my cabin and laid down on the bed. The candle above me flickered weakly as if was trying to gold onto its last speck of light.
What a day. I sighed and turned on to my sides.
I should really make some friends...
"Hello?" I heard a girls voice interrupt my thoughts.
I immediately sat up.
I met eye to eye with a silver haired girl with black streaks and dark grey eyes.
I patted my self down.
"Yes?" I asked.
The girl breathed in and then exhaled quickly.
'I think you're really brave for standing up to the commander I have never seen any one do that before and that is really cool can I have your autograph!"
She threw so many words at me I didn't even know what she even said.
I scratched the back of my head.
"Sorry can you repeat that?" I asked.
The girl went red in the face and kneeled onto her knees.
"I knew it...Dammit kodia get a hold of your self..." She murmured to her self.
I peered over my bed.
"Uh...are you okay?" I asked again.
The girl stood up.
"Hi...I'm Kodia and I'm in the same cabin as you!" She replied. "I think you were really cool when you stood up to the instructor!"
After she said that she jumped in glee and patted her own back.
"Thanks...I'm Marisa." I said. "And it's not as cool as you think. I nearly got killed."
She giggled.
"I thought it was courageous!"
I looked away in embarrassment.
"Well if you say so..."
Kodia jumped onto my bed and grabbed my hands.
"Marisa! Let's be friends!"
