CH37: Gutsy move

~Marisa~
"Damn now Eren is under that shorties command?"
I nodded slowly.
Kodia sighed and shook her head with disbelief. "Poor Eren, I wish we could join to make sure-"
She stopped halfway through her sentence and looked at me with a sly look.
I exhchanged a worried expression, as I knew something was going on in that head of hers, and a had a vague feeling it wasn't good.

She slammed her hands down onto my shoulders suddenly and looked me directly into the eye.
I heard a slight crack in my bones.
"Marisa," Kodia said with sparkling eyes. "If we can't beat them, join them!"
I blinked a few times.
"Are you crazy? They'll never let us-" before I could protest she ran out of the room at super sonic speed, leaving me with a gaping jaw.
Mikasa and Armin came over with confused looks on their faces.
"What's up with Kodia?" Armin asked.
I told them about what she had been thinking.
They all stared at me. I was pretty sure they were thinking what I thought as well.

Suddenly Kodia burst into the room again and immediately grabbed my arm.
She dragged me out of the area and ran while pulling me forwards.
"Don't worry Marisa! I went around the place and asked where the office was!"
My head was still dizzy.
"What?!"
She ignored my words and kept running until we reached a door way.

I was nearly out of breath, my lungs felt like stone and my muscles were sore.
Kodia stood in front of the door and barged in with one hand on the knob and one hand on my arm.
"Greetings, I'm here to apply for the elite squad!"
The black haired and blonde hair guy from before were at the desk, unamused faced as she had clearly interrupted a discussion.

A soldier stood guard beside us and tried to hush us out.

"Cadets what are you doing?!'

"What is this?"

"Beats me,"

Kodia puffed her chest up.
"This girl and I want to apply for the elite squad."

"Apologies, only selected soldiers can join the elite squad, I suggest you soldiers leave,"

Kodia shot him a glare then looked at me.

"Well Marisa say something,"

I was speechless, "Wait I-"

She put her hand over my face, "Okay never mind! But we are really good! We excel in things! Like...combat and intelligence! Yeh!"

The guard was now impatient,
"Stop with your rambling this is an authorised area! If you dont leave I will call additional guards here-"

"No! I-I'll verse the 'captain' over there if you want me to prove it!" Kodia suddenly blurted out.
All was silent, even the guard.

My mind was in shambles and my stomach was turning in a 360 degree flip. Considering the guy over there had beaten Eren to pulp instantly, I had doubts Kodia was going to beat him.

The man with thick eyebrows looked over at the guy.
"Well Levi, what's your choice?"

The guy, Levi or whatever set his paperwork down on the table.
"Could teach these brats a lesson, didn't have enough of beating Eren Yeager up,"

Anger flashed in Kodia's eyes, she peeled off her jacket and flung it towards me, I caught it with my face.
She proceeded to roll her sleeves up.

"So you're the one that beat Eren up! Unforgivable!"

Levi looked at her with a straight face. "You're his friend. I see".
He straightened his back and walked forwards.
"Tch, this is troublesome,"

Kodia furrowed her eyebrows.

Those two looked ready to beat the living day lights outta each other, I was nearly afraid to watch.

"Maybe you guys should take it outside-" I piped up before immediately being pushed down by Kodia.
'Shhhh I got this!"

It was all a flash, they fought it out aggressively. I knew Kodia was good in combat , however I didn't think she'd be THIS good.

She dodged and striked, swiftly attacked and so on.
Truthfully it was amazing to watch.
Levi wasn't bad either, he excelled in kicks and was good at dodging as well.

As Kodia proceeded to knock him in the face, he dodged and pulled an upper cut quickly followed by a round house kick.
There were a few close calls but Kodia managed to block them with her forearms.

As I was immersed into the fight I had not realised more guards were being called in.

As the two were fighting the blonde haired guy shouted, "Stop."
They both kicked at each other and proceeded to freeze, legs locked in the same position in a mid kick.

They retreated and went back.
Kodia was sweating and her breaths were timid.

"Well Levi what do you think?"

The guard from before spoke up rather quickly, "Commander! You can't allow this! This is absurd-"

"Shut up you disrespectful scum, who do you think you're talkin to?"Levi said as he looked down upon him with a pissed glare.

The guard pulled back and spoke no more.

"It'd be a shame to not accept such skill, she even fought fair against you, to be honest."

Levi turned his head our way and stared.
'I'll consider it."

Kodia shot her hand up.
"Wait! And her as well!" She said as she pointed at me.

"She hasn't proven her self yet. Elite squad can't accept amateurs."

Kodia did put a hand around my shoulders.
'She's very smart! And she's...uh..good at collecting information, Yeh!"
The lies were everywhere. I didn't consider my self smart at all much less than collecting information.

"If you don't let her join, I might as well not. Even-though-I-was-determined-at-the-start-about-joining-the-elite-squad-but-it-doesn't-matter!" She said as she quickly rushed through her last sentence.

The blonde guy leaned back on his chair.
"...we'll consider that was well,"

Levi, again with his straight face, folded his arms and leaned against the wall.

"Whatever."

After telling us that they were gonna see our files and reports I nearly hurled cause I didn't even know if I did well in grades in the military, I didn't even try.

Word spread quickly of our ordeal. Mikasa and Armin were very confused, more than ever, but they still congratulated us.

In the end they accepted us, even me.
I couldn't believe my ears.
They actually let us in, it felt so surreal I had to slap my self a few times to make sure I wasn't in some long ass dream.
Kodia was very happy, she kept on hugging me like there was no tomorrow.
But I was in dilemma, sure we got in , but at the same time I didn't know if I could hold the responsibility of being one of the elite squads members.

I had also threw my chance to find Marx in the garrisons, I'm signing very heavily right now.

"Marisa we did it! Eren will no longer be lonely!!"

I gave a weak smile. "I didn't do anything, you were amazing against levi by the way."

Kodia huffed and had a smug look.
"Formidable, definitely different from all the people I've versed so far."

"Even me?"

"Even you Marisa, definitely."
