Chapter Fifteen: What's Happened?

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

••Katniss's POV••

I hear another cannon. That's fifteen gone already and to my surprise, I see Johanna's picture in the sky. I hear rustling behind me, I take the hard rubber knife I got from the backpack I grabbed at the pile supplies, and I turn around. Two girls, who I don't know, are staring at me, defenseless. I don't know what got into me, but I take the knife and hit them both in the temple with the flat side. The girls crumple to the ground and two cannons go off. That's seventeen gone and two on my behalf.

God. What's happened to me? I think.

I run and I don't look back as a teacher comes and takes them away. I keep running until I reach a cave. I lay out all my stuff inside and go out to find wood to start a fire.

••Peeta's POV••

I feel bad for ditching Katniss and not telling her about my plan. I feel as if it'll be all my fault if she gets hurt, especially since she's my girlfriend now.

"Lover boy!" I hear Cato yell.

"What?" I respond with a scowl. He knows I've hated that name ever since he started calling me that in the fourth grade, when he found out I had a crush on Katniss.

"We need to find that peasant!" Marvel yells back at me, "So get over here!"

"She's not a peasant!" I scream and I get up and go over to them. "And if I ever hear you call her that again I won't help you!"

Clove rolls her eyes."Whatever." she say while throwing a knife at the grass.

God! what's happened to them! I think.

"Where do you think she is?" Glimmer says, breaking the tension.

"The woods probably." I say.

Oh God! I can't believe I just sold her out. What's happened to me!?

"Alright. We'll start there then." Cato says, while standing up and picking up his rubber sword.
