"Ok everyone, that's all for today! Remember we have an early start tomorrow though, so don't party too late tonight." Julie said to the everyone as they wrapped up a day on set.
The day had been quite uneventful. We all got up and ready at Kat's house before going to set. Too many cups of coffee were consumed, Ethan, Amy and I stole a golf cart and went exploring while the others were filming, and then we spent too much time at lunch (much to Julie's annoyance) before I watched the last few shots.
Now it was time to go home.
Paul turned to everyone, with Phoebe beside him, "Hey is everyone ok to come over to ours for dinner and a movie marathon." He winked mischievously at Julie, who rolled her eyes disapprovingly.
Everyone agreed and began to walk outside. I was about to follow when Ian grabbed my hand and stopped me.
"Actually, sorry Paul, we can't come," he said.
"What? Why?" I asked, confused.
Paul and Ian exchanged a look I couldn't quite comprehend and then Paul nodded and walked away.
I looked to Ian. "What are we doing?"
"I'm taking you out."
"Huh?" I replied, but he was already walking towards the door. I ran after him, struggling to keep up with his fast pace. In the car I continued to question him but he didn't respond at all. When we arrived at his house, he led me to his bedroom and simply said, "Wear something fancy. You have one hour to get ready." Then he turned and went back down the stairs.
Sighing, I walked through the room and into the bathroom. I showered and wrapped myself in a robe before sitting at the dresser and beginning on my hair. I blow-dried and straightened it to perfection, before twisting a few pieces and pinning them in the back with a black bow. Next I applied my makeup: a glittery gold eye with a red lip. When my makeup was done, I changed into a long black dress with a slit up the leg. Finally, I stepped into a pair of gold heels and walked downstairs.
I found Ian stood by the door in a white shirt and black tuxedo. He looked breathtakingly handsome.
When he saw me his face lit up. "You look absolutely stunning," he breathed, obviously looking me up and down.
I smiled, "You don't scrub up too bad yourself."
Ian stared at me blankly for a few moments before saying, "Excuse moi, I look hot as hell and no one can deny it."
I grinned and softly planted a kiss on his lips before sauntering out of the door and to his car.
The car journey was relatively quiet as Ian refused to say where we were going.
When, at last, the car stopped, I looked out of the window to see an extremely fancy looking restaurant.
"Woah, Ian, you didn't have to bring me here. I would never ask this of you. Not to mention how expensive this must be. I can't repay you for this." He shushed me with a kiss.
"Chill out, Natalie, it's my treat. I'm your boyfriend and I've only taken you on one kind-of date. And don't worry. This place definitely isn't all small portions and exotic foods. They serve the best BBQ burger I've ever had."
I sighed in defeat and smiled over at him. "Fine. But next time I'm taking you out."
He chuckled, "Whatever you say Sweetheart."
Together, we exited the car and walked inside. The restaurant was really beautiful. As soon as I walked in there was someone there to take my coat, then we were led through the large, marble floored room to our table in the corner. There was a lemon scented candle in the center (specially requested by Ian as that is my favourite scent) and a single rose in a small vase. Everyone else in the room seemed authoritative and rich, so I felt quite out of place, but I was soon comforted by Ian's hand resting on mine. We were given menus but Ian just said to the waiter, "No need for this, we'll both have the BBQ burger with extra cheddar and a side of fries."
Our waiter smiled at us, clearly relieved that we weren't snobby and fancy like everyone else in the room, and then he left us alone.
When our food arrived, we dug in almost immediately, ignoring the disgusted stares from people round us.
We talked about anything and everything throughout the evening. As I was about to take a bite out of my chocolate fudge cake, Ian started speaking.
"So, I know we're spending Christmas Eve and Christmas day at Paul and Phoebe's with everyone else, but it's tradition for me to go to my parents' house on Boxing Day. So I was wondering if you wanted to come with me and meet my family. You obviously don't have to. But I thought the day would have to come eventually, so...."
"I'd love to!" I exclaimed, smiling widely. He smiled too, seemingly relieved, and leaned over to kiss me lightly.
I was excited to meet his family. From what I'd heard, they were lovely and couldn't wait to meet me too. This would be fun.
After we finished eating, we drove back to Ian's house. I didn't realise how tired I was until I lay back in Ian's bed and I almost couldn't keep my eyes open.
"Thank you for tonight. It was amazing." I smiled, leaning over to kiss Ian.
He smiled and kissed back, before pulling me into his bare chest and wrapping his arms around my waist."Goodnight baby."
But I was already fast asleep.6+ votes for more :)
