I look up at the door as someone knocks, but I don't call for them to come in. A few moments later, they knock again but I still don't reply so I expect whoever it is to leave. I knew better than to expect it, but the blinding sensation of the light turning on signals their entrance. I blink away the pain and lift my face from my knees to see who it is. It's Kisame, coming to get me for training. I hadn't slept at all, I just sat against the wall on the bed, put my knees to my chest, and rested my head on my knees. "You're up. Why didn't you answer?" He asks.
"I didn't sleep. I figured whoever it was would go away or would come in on their own. I assume that I have to get ready for whatever Moody has in store?"
He nods and settles against the wall. I unfold myself and get to my feet before stretching. I retrieve my belongings from the drawer and lay them out on the bed before digging through my clothing for some training clothes. I end up picking a pair of dark shorts and a dark red t-shirt, choosing against my jacket to cut down on chances of being caught by fabric if I'm fighting, before slipping into the bathroom to change.
I return to the room to find Kisame investigating my swords. I put on my belt and jewelry: an assortment of rings, earrings and two necklaces, before sliding on my boots and brushing out my hair. I plant a black beanie on my head as a finishing touch, then turn to face Kisame. He relinquishes my swords and places them back on the bed.
"So, do they pass?" I ask jokingly.
"They're slightly off balance and need sharpened, but they are fine." He admits.
"They were my mother's. They're very old. I would've sharpened them the night before like usual, but I was on the back of a bird."
I go to slide them back into their sheaths, but pause when I spot something inside one of them. I pull it out and sigh, realizing that it was the paper for the Chunin exams. I was supposed to turn that in yesterday. I wonder if they've realized that I've gone.
"What's that?"
"Oh, it's nothing. It doesn't matter now."
I tuck the paper back into the sheath before putting my swords away and strapping them to my back.
"Let's go." I mutter, turning to the blue skinned man.
I follow Kisame through the base, trying harder to memorize the path that leads to this training area. I imagine that I'll be spending a majority of my time there while I'm here. We pass through the kitchen and it slightly refreshes my memory on where I am. I also spot the coffee maker and wish that they had more. My eyes catch the sight of a coffee can on the counter and sigh before realizing that I'd thrown away the empty can last night.
"Kisame, can I make coffee first?"
"Aren't you a little young for coffee?"
"I'm fourteen, and coffee is the only thing that keeps me nice."
"Make it fast, he's expecting you."
I nod and pull a small coffee cup from the pile of clean dishes on the table before setting a small batch to brew. Once it's done, I pour the cup and motion for him to lead the way. We stop a minute later in front of a set of doors and he pushes it open for me. I take a large sip of coffee before stepping inside. Whatever Moody has planned better be worth it, that's all I have to say.
"Top of the morning to you Moody, so what form of-" I pause as I look up at the man standing in the center of the room. "Y-you..."
