A/N: Well I thought about it after deciding against a sequel but Book 2 is out and complete. Its called Moving On. Book 3 is complete called Ghost. Regardless I've done a small time-skip chapter for you guys. Enjoy!~ <3

"If you don't get the hell out of that bed right now, I will cut your head off." I growl, glaring down at the silver haired man below me. I'd been trying to get him to wake up for two hours now and we have to meet up with a man to settle the bounty we took out yesterday. Hidan turns over in the bed and smirks at me. I put my hands on my hips and scowl at him.
"Get up lazy ass."
"You're so cranky Koneko. Maybe you should take a nap."
I start to complain at him again and he grabs onto my arm and pulls me onto the bed. I huff in annoyance and try to pull away but he wraps his arm around me and pulls me to his chest. My face heats up as my face rests mere inches away from his own.
"You're insufferable, Hidan." I mutter, keeping my eyes from meeting his own.
"You know you like it."
It's been two years since the war and we became the remaining Akatsuki members. Hidan and I remained at the base and became bounty hunters. We're still classified as criminals but no one is actively after us. My father Kakashi pardoned my crimes while he was the Hokage so I'm permitted in the village but Hidan of course is not. Bounty hunting is actually pretty fun, especially when I'd actually convinced Hidan to dress like a girl to attract our target. It failed horribly, but I managed to get a picture of it. I had to hide from him for three weeks after that but I don't regret it at all. I stifle a giggle as I remember the picture and suddenly remember my current predicament. I glance up at Hidan and his purple eyes meet mine.
"What are you thinking about, Short Stack?"
"N-Nothing." I mutter, getting lost in his gaze.
A small smirk crosses his lips as one of his hands runs through my hair. "You're lying to me."
A shiver runs down my spine and he chuckles lowly.
"S-Stop it. W-We have to go. I almost forgot."
"That old geezer can wait a little longer."
"He's been waiting for over an hour now. We need to go, Lazy Ass."
"You're so impatient... Let me take a shower then we can go, alright? I don't know why I put up with you."
"Eh, you know you like it." I retort with a grin.
He scoffs and rolls his eyes as a smile plays across his face.
"See? I knew you liked me."
I lean up and peck him on the lips before escaping his arms.
Hidan heads into the bathroom a moment later, making sure to stretch slowly and show off his muscular torso, and I push the dirty thoughts away as I prepare a quick breakfast for us. Hidan and I are together now, to our surprise. It wasn't exactly planned but it seems natural. Around six months after our return to the base, we went to a festival held in a nearby village. Our objective was to track down our target, but I got distracted by the lights and fun, and before I knew it, we'd forgotten about the man and spent the night laughing and joking around. We ended up watching the fireworks from one of the rooftops and he'd kissed me. We never officially started to date, but it's fairly obvious. We share a bed and kiss, among other things, but we still act the same. I smile slightly and my hand drifts to the necklace hanging around my throat, the charm being an upside down triangle inside a circle, the Jashin symbol. I read Hidan's books on Jashinism and decided to convert.
"Your head is up in the clouds today."
"I'm fine, just lost in thought. Are you ready?" I turn from the sink to face him.
He still wears his Akatsuki cloak when we go on missions even though the organization no longer exists. I think it's his way of honoring them without losing his 'manly' reputation. Living in the base has been a little hard on me, remembering the liveliness that the base used to hold, but I don't think we could ever really leave.
"Come on Short Stack. You were bitching about making him wait and made me get up."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going. Eat your breakfast and hush."
I hand him a piece of toast topped with a fried egg on top and head toward the door. As we step out into the glow of the rising sun, I feel his hand slip into mine. I smile up at him, giggling at the toast hanging from his lips.
Life certainly didn't turn out the way I'd planned. I wanted to join the ANBU and eventually the Interrogation Force in Konoha. Instead I didn't even make it past genin level and jumped to an S-rank criminal. I joined a criminal organization at a young age and helped take down bad guys, just on the other side of the spectrum. I found my mother and made up and formally met my father, and even activated my kekkei genkai. I dug up my immortal best friend and now lover, and we hunt down other criminals together. In the end, I'm happy with how things have turned out. I would've gotten bored living in Konoha. Now every day is an adventure and I get to spend it with the person who made all of my struggles worth it. I squeeze his hand tightly and smile up at him before we let go and head off through the trees. Just another day in paradise.

A/N: Thank you for reading! I hope you liked it. <3 I had a dream that they ended up together and decided to make it a reality. I may make another story where they've had a child and it follows said child. I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
