Hey babes and pals!
I actually got this idea as an AU. What if Adrien was Alexander Hamilton, and various others were others from Hamilton? Well, let's just go with the idea that Marinette's is Eliza. Oh my god....
-------------------------------------
As Marinette read through the pamphlet in front of the fireplace, she could feel the tears rushing down her cheeks. She told him to take a break... She supposed he couldn't say no to it.

Adrien had been in New York when he had an affair with Chloé Bourgeois, when he was supposed to be working. Apparently he had been accused of paying Mr. Bourgeois large sums of money in exchange for not abusing Mrs. Chloé and to let Adrien take her into his bed. Marinette could feel her heart breaking as she read the essay title.

When she had finished, she threw it down and grabbed some recent letters she had saved.

She could feel the lump in her throat begin to form, but the words flowed easily.

She started to reread the first letter he wrote. "I saved every letter you wrote me. From the moment I read them, I knew you were mine. You said you were mine. I thought you were mine..." She put it down and looked to the ceiling.

"Do you know what Alya said when she saw your first letter arrive? She said, 'Be careful with that one, love. He will do what takes to survive.'" She stood and spun as she held te letter to her chest. "You and your words flooded my senses. Your sentences left me defenseless, you built me palaces out of paragraphs, you built cathedrals..." She stopped and kneeled back down searching through the letters for something.

"I'm rereading the letters you wrote me... I'm searching and scanning for answers in every line for some kind of sign of when you were mine..." She held up a letter, the first one he wrote in fact, up to the fire glow as tears rushed down. "The world seemed... to burn. Burn."

She put down her letters and picked up the Bourgeois Pamphlet. "You published the letters she wrote you. You told the world how you brought this girl into our bed. In clearing your name, you have ruined our lives." She crumpled the papers, her voice cracking, and threw them into the fire.

"Do you know what Alya said when she had read what you had done? She said, 'You have married an Icarus, for he has flown too close to the sun.'" She picked up the letters again, but instead of spinning, she gritted her teeth and started to crush them in her hands.

"You and your words obsessed with your legacy! Your sentences border on senseless and you are paranoid in every paragraph, how they perceive you." She tore a letter in half.

"You." RRRRIIIIIPPP!

"You." RRRRIIIIIPPP!

"YOU!" RRRRIIIIIPPP! The pieces of the letter floated through the air and some landed in the fire. Marinette's eyes became bright with tears and fire.

She took a page of a letter, read it through, then spoke.

"I'm erasing myself from the narrative. Let future historians wonder how Mar'nette reacted when you broke her heart." She tossed it into the fire. "I'm watching it burn... Watching it burn." Her voice grew louder as she grabbed more letters and pages.

"The world has no right to my heart! The world has no place in our head! They don't get to know what I said! I'm burning the memories, burning the letters that might have redeemed you." Marinette got up and charged over to the desk, opened it, and threw all the letters from Adrien to her onto the floor. Then, opening each letter, taking a page, she crumpled each page of every letter and pitched it into the fire.

"YOU FORFEIT ALL RIGHT TO MY HEART! You forfeit the place in our bed! You'll sleep in your office instead! With only the memories of when you were mine!"

Marinette held the last page, the first page of the first letter he had written to her. The tears started to fall again as she folded it up and gently tossed it into the fire.

Her lips trembled as she spoke the last words:

"I hope that you... Burn."

What? No, I'm not obsessed with Hamilton! I just wrote this because...

Okay, yeah, I am obsessed. ITS GOOD THOUGH! And I love this song, and Satisfied; The Room Where It Happens; Helpless; My Shot; Alexander Hamilton; Aaron Burr, Sir; The World Was Wide Enough; One Last Time (I cry); Wait For It; The Schuyler Sisters; You'll Be Back...

I can't name off the whole soundtrack, guys. I need help.
