So, later that night, Nate was asleep on the couch, with Morgan curled up to him and Briar curled up to him. He fell asleep an hour an a half ago, and Morgan fell asleep watching her show. At this time, my wife was gushing over the fact that there was the small family asleep on the couch.
To be honest, it is adorable, but I don't really want Phoebe gushing over them completely.
But now that Nate is asleep, I decided to find out what he was hiding. So, I went to his bedroom, when I knew he was in a dead sleep. I actually feel bad for going through his stuff. I know I'm invading his privacy But I want to know what's going on with him. I want to know what I can do to help him.
Turning his table lamp on, I open his end table drawer, digging through it neatly. Wow, he buried this paper good!
But after 5 minutes of digging, I finally found the paper. Sitting on his bed, I unfolded the paper, checking the top of it. There were two papers here. They were stapled together.
Taking a look at the first paper, I notice the top of the paper had Nate's full name on it, his date of birth and a date from five months ago., I didn't take much appeal to it. But, the second paper caught my attention.
It once again, had his full name and date of birth.. The only difference is the date on it is from yesterday.
Looking up, I make sure no one was walking past me. If Nate decided to wake, he'd come in here to get his phone, and he'd see that I have this paper.
After making sure no one was there, I take a look at the paper.
It didn't give anything.. No name, no nothing. But it does say: May affect speech, eye movements, the ability to swallow, walking, picking up objects, and other voluntary movements.
What does this even mean?
There's more: Poor limb coordination. Dysarthria. (difficulties controlling volume, rhythm, and pitch) Swallowing difficulties. Tremors. Nystagmus. Problems with balance. Walking difficulties. Vision problems. Hearing problems. Depression.
Where did Nate get this? Is this his?
I want to question him, but he might get mad.
Taking a deep breath, I read the last paragraph of this last paper, but I couldn't finish the paragraph. What I read, made me freeze..
Nate's hiding more than I thought...
... He's not acting out from Stress
... He's dying...
