"Are you hungry?" Nate asked me, as I wrap the baby in a blanket, walking into the kitchen.
"I can make something, if I'm hungry." I tell him, walking to him.
"So, you're not hungry?" He asked me.
"No, I'm okay." I say to him, as he slid a Mountain Dew can back and fourth.
I look at him for a moment as he quietly slid the can back and fourth.
"You alright?" I ask him calmly.
"W-What?" He asked me. "Yeah, Morgan. I'm okay."
"You sure?"
"Yeah.. I'm just tired." He told me, moving his hair away from his eyes. "I didn't really sleep last night."
"Then go get some sleep." I tell him. "I'm fine with the baby."
"I don't need to sleep, right now." He told me calmy.
"Yes, you do." I looked over as Brett and his wife walked out of the hallway.
"I'm not surprised that you two are awake.." Brett laughed quietly.
"I wanna hold her!" I hear Phoebe say to me, taking the sleeping baby from me.
I give a glance to Nate as he quietly cut up a tomato for his sandwich.
He's not.. right.
Something's on his mind.. I wanna question him, but I feel I shouldn't. Me questioning him, was what made us take a break in the first place.
"Should I put her in her bed?" Phoebe asked.
I look at Nate as he checked his watch. "I guess she can go down." He answered, going back to cutting up the tomato.
"Here, Nate. You take her. I feel like she'd freak out if I try to put her down." Phoebe started, handing Nate our daughter.
"Why?" He asked, confused.
"She's your daughter." Phoebe smirked at him.
He was hesitant, only to wipe his hands on a towel before he took the baby, walking down the hall with her. After he was gone, I shot a glance at Phoebe.
"Why'd you make him do it, I thought you wanted her?" I ask quietly.
"I wanted him to leave, I have a question about him, and I didn't want him to hear it." She said to me.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Is he okay?" Brett asked me quietly.
"Ya, that's literally what I was wondering." Phoebe added.
I looked at them for a moment, then sigh.
I knew one of them were going to ask that.
It's actually a question, I don't wanna answer.
"What? Of course he is okay, why wouldn't he be?" I ask.
"You haven't noticed his behavior?" Phoebe asked me.
"He's a little off," I admit to them. "There was a long period of time, when I had no idea what he was doing.." I say.
Phoebe and Brett looked at me for a moment.
"Hunter's death really got to him. He blames himself for Hunter's death, yet it wasn't his fault." I explain quietly. "He hasn't been the same since he found out how Hunter died. The doctors told me how he found out, and the way they told him, wasn't fair to him."
It really did effect him. So much that he unknowingly Attempted Suicide. At the hospital when Briar was born.
He didnt know it but he did.
"He went through some shit, I'm guessing." Brett started silently.
"I'm pretty sure he has. Nate, sadly hasn't been the same since that accident." I say. "And I don't really know how to help him."
