Brownkit and Silverkit were being made apprentices after being kits for that long. Their mother was super proud of Silverkit.
The leader stepped up and called for the kits.
"Silverkit and Brownkit has both reached six moons and are ready to be apprentices."
Silverkit smiled brightly and walked up. Light struck her eyes as if she was destined. Brownkit sat in sadness and waited impatiently for his name to be called.
"Silverkit, you are now Silverpaw, I will be your mentor." the leader, Superstar meowed.
Brownkit was amazed, his cliche sister was going to get the leader as her mentor. Silverpaw squealed, her eyes sparkled again and the leader and Silverpaw touched noses.
"Brownkit, I almost forgot you." Superstar chuckled.
Brownkit grumbled and stepped up.
"Brownkit, you are now Brownpaw, Solarlight will be your mentor." Superstar meowed.
The group went to explore the territory. Brownpaw felt anger surge through him. He wasn't going to be pushed back because of his sister's act.
They all went on a hunting patrol. The apprentices practice their hunter's crouch and tried to find prey. At the end of the day Silverpaw caught a lot of prey and Brownpaw was left with a prey of scraggy fresh-kill.
The leader praised Silverpaw and they had a feast.
Brownpaw got angry and jealous, he was going to fight back for what he thought was right.
