Lefu fell asleep during the movie. She blinked open her eyes to find Clark, asleep with his head resting on her shoulder. She smiled and maneuvered out from under him, gently laying him down onto the couch. She grabbed a blanket and covered him with it. Lefu shook her head and left his apartment quietly to go inside her own. Jeremiel turned on the lights and scowled at her.
"You're late," Jeremiel said sarcastically. Lefu jumped in surprise and then scowled.
"What are you really doing here?" She spat at him. She kept him in front of her, her hands reaching out behind her for the door handle.
"We need to talk. I had a vision about you. I came to take you away before it happens," Jeremiel commented. Lefu sighed and shook her head.
"I'm not going anywhere. I like it here," Lefu said sternly. Jeremiel looked grim.
"I won't let what I saw happen. It's blasphemy," he spat out. Lefu glared at him.
"What did you see?" She asked carefully. Jeremiel looked shaken, lost. She almost ran to comfort him.
"You will save a man, this Superman. I won't let it happen. I can't," he said brokenly. Jeremiel cried into his hands. Lefu sighed and sat in a chair across from him.
"I doubt that could ever happen. I don't even like Superman. He's a real smart ass," Lefu said off handedly. Jeremiel looked up from his hands, a strange gleam crossing his eyes.
"No, my visions are never wrong. I won't let it happen. I rather you died instead of committing such a filthy act," he said gruffly. Lefu sprang up right when Jeremiel tackled her. She kicked up and he slammed into her ceiling, making it crack. She ran towards the patio and he yanked her back by her hair. She cried out involuntarily as Jeremiel pulled her head up into a painful angle.
"I'll kill you myself before letting such a thing pass," he hissed into her ear. She scratched at his face as he threw her through her window and she slammed into the ledge of her patio. She got up onto her knees and coughed out blood. Jeremiel stalked towards her and stomped on her hand, crushing it into the glass.
"It's not going to happen!" Lefu cried out and yanked on his ankle so that Jeremiel fell back. She clutched her injured hand to her chest and hopped up onto the top of the ledge. Jeremiel sprang up and caught her by her neck before she could jump off.
"We could have been so good together, you and I. We were meant to be, the one whom god helps and the mercy of god. Why couldn't you see it?" Jeremiel spat out, shaking Lefu over the ledge. "And now look at you! You've changed."
Lefu clawed at his hands, choking and sputtering. Blood dripped down her mouth. Jeremiel punched her over and over in her gut and threw her. Lefu flew back, further and further to land in Superman's arms. She coughed and smiled weakly up at him.
"I swear, this is not on purpose," she joked weakly. Superman sighed and wiped the blood from her mouth.
"What happened?" He asked her gently. Lefu covered her mouth with her injured hand and coughed. Jeremiel showed up, his grey wings gleaming in the moonlight.
"So your kryptonian in shining armor is here. Good, I can kill two birds with one stone," Jeremiel spat out and took out a silver stake from inside his coat sleeve. Superman glared.
"Stop what you're doing now. You don't want me to get angry," Superman warned. Jeremiel laughed and smacked Lefu from Superman's arms. Lefu fell towards the ground and landed in a field. Superman rushed to her but Jeremiel blocked his path.
"What can you do, monkey? Talk me to death?" Jeremiel laughed. Superman punched Jeremiel in the jaw, making Jeremiel step back and rub his jaw.
"What do you know? That actually hurt," Jeremiel said sarcastically. They traded blows until they locked hands, trying to overpower the other.
