Lefu nervously messed with the dress she chose to go out in for their date. It was too late to go anywhere and Clark arrived too late. Her worries disappeared when he smiled down at her.

"Well, hello," he said, eyeing her up and down. Lefu smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him into a kiss. He chuckled and cupped her face.

"I'm sorry about missing the date. There was a lot of trouble that kept coming up," he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. Lefu shook her head.

"It's fine. I packed up a picnic. Will you follow me?" She asked. Clark smiled.

"Follow? I can carry you and you can direct me. I'd like to keep my hands on you as much as I can," he teased. Lefu happily obliged. She directed him to a grassy field surrounded by a dense forest in Japan. It had a clear view of the night sky. She lay out a blanket and set out the food. She fed him cheese and meats to eat while sipping on wine. It was bliss. They lay on the blanket in each other's arms, gazing up at the sky.

"This place is amazing," Clark remarked. Lefu chuckled.

"This is where I lived before I died," she told him. He turned onto his side to gaze down at her.

"Tell me," he said. Lefu smiled and lay on her back so that she could watch his face.

"I lived on the streets my whole life. A bad man when I was around ten abducted me. I was starved and left to die yet I continued to survive. I moved on and found this place. I made this my safe haven. I stole whatever I could and sold everything. I saved up and put myself into school. Mr. Nakamura is actually one of the teachers who helped me stay in school. Only a handful kept me going but he's the only one left alive today," she said sadly. Clark kissed her gently and stroked her face as she talked. "Unfortunately, in college I got sick with the flu. I didn't have money for medicine so I wasted away in a hospital. That day I made a deal with the archangel of death. She was ready to pass on. I took on her soul and all her memories to live on as the next archangel of death. I use Lefu as my name. Instead of passing on into heaven, I defected and lived among the humans. I've been on Earth as death since humans walked the Earth. If you count the previous generations of the archangel as me." She looked up into Clark's eyes.

"I am death and I have been given many names. Do I scare you?" She asked hesitantly. Clark shook his head and kissed her deeply. She happily sighed  and she ran her hands against his stomach, pulling up his shirt. They made love on the forest floor. The sun was starting to rise and he gazed down at her in amazement. She smiled into his eyes, cradling his face in her hands.

"I love you," she told him. Clark smile beamed with happiness.

"I love you too," he told her, kissing her again. They couldn't get enough of each other.

Lefu sat on the ledge of the Daily Planet, looking down. The monster Darkseid was making it's way towards the city, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Superman left her to head off its path. It didn't work out so well.

Superman fought with the monster Darkseid below her. They traded blows, knocking each other into buildings. They disappeared under the city and thumps appeared along the streets until Superman was flung out of the ground, landing harshly. Darkseid sprang up and grabbed Superman by his head, holding him up and punching him repeatedly in the stomach until he coughed out blood. Darkseid threw Superman onto the ground like a rag doll. A little girl was crying, drawing the attention of Darkseid. Darkseid dropped Superman, losing interest and sprang up into the air to crush the girl. Just before it could crush her, Superman grabbed the creature.

Lefu cried out involuntarily, covering her mouth with her hands to stifle her cry. Superman carried the creature high above the atmosphere and used the reentry to slam Darkseid into the ground, killing it. Lefu launched herself into the air towards Superman before he made reentry. She wrapped him in her wings, kissing him. A flash of white light enveloped them as his memories flowed through her but instead of taking his memories, she turned the flow back onto Superman.

She knew he was watching her memories, focusing on the moment he entered her life. White light flashed before they both fell back to Earth, Lefu protecting him with her own body. They fell to the ground in a flurry of feathers. Her broken bloody wings fell back and revealed Superman on top of Lefu. Superman stumbled out of the crater carrying Lefu in his arms and collapsed to his knees. He gently touched her face.

"Did I?" he asked her. Lefu gently cupped his face and smiled through the blood trickling from her mouth.

"Yes, you did it. Everyone is safe," she whispered brokenly. Superman gasped and held her to him tightly.

"Good... That's all that matters..." Superman said brokenly and fell back; Lefu closed her eyes. The echo of her death sent out a shockwave that toppled nearby buildings and knocked over everyone in the city, covering them in dust. Her wings burned itself into the ground around them leaving behind an echo of what once was. Jimmy snapped pictures the entire time, in a numb sort of shock.

The death of Superman rocked the nation. A memorial was built to hold Superman's body, made by Lex Luthor. Bruce Wayne took Metropolis' angel to Gotham for a private ceremony on his family plot. Hordes of people gathered around Superman's grave to drop a rose into the grave. Bruce was the only one who knew the real story behind Superman's death. Lefu tried to save him but she may have been too late. Superman was dead and her along with him.

A/N: I've written this story when I was younger and the writing style is super clunky. LOL I decided to post this fic until it's end for the sake of finishing it.

It ends on a somber note since not all stories get a happy ending. And Levi's story is nothing but death while Superman is the opposite being so full of life. If you're familiar with DC Comics or even the animated movies, then you know Superman comes back to life. Left would not and she would just be someone he used to know. A painful memory that he'd cherish and hold onto since no one would be left to remember her.

I may revisit this fic to revamp it. If I ever do, the story would drastically change. Especially fix the story flow and pacing. Hahaha Thanks for reading this to its end! I hope you enjoyed it even with this kind of ending.
