"Quickly! Diana is facing Lord Hades in a match!" An Amazonian spread the word around the island. Lefu stood in the middle of the rink and Wonder Woman circled her with a sword and shield in hand.
"Pick up your sword at least when you face me," Wonder Woman spat out. Lefu lifted a brow. She ignored Superman and Batman watching them in the stands.
"You think I would need it against you?" Lefu challenged. Wonder Woman struck with a stab towards Lefu's stomach. Lefu deflected it with her bracer and flipped backwards to land on Wonder Woman's sword when she stabbed outward again. Wonder Woman backhanded Lefu with her shield. Lefu pushed against it so that she flew back and skirted against the ground. Wonder Woman was already there, rushing towards Lefu and sweeping her leg out in a kick. Lefu smiled and jumped up and let herself fall back onto her back, spreading her wings out wide. Wonder Woman brought her shield down to strike Lefu against her neck. Before the blow could get even close, Superman smacked Wonder Woman back.
"Enough Diana!" Superman demanded. The image of Lefu on the ground faded and she appeared to catch Wonder Woman and helped her stand up. Wonder Woman growled and walked right up to Superman.
"That was too harsh Superman," Lefu commented darkly. Lefu strode past him and walked towards Lyla. Wonder Woman and Superman started to argue about Lefu's safety. Lefu waved up to Batman who smirked down at her. Lefu glanced back at Wonder Woman and Superman.
"Hey, you two. Don't I get a say about myself?" She asked jokingly. They both rounded on her.
"No!" They shouted together. Lefu sighed. Superman rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry. Of course you do," he said, trying to appease Lefu. Lefu scoffed and turned away from him, walking up to Lyla.
"Lyla, let's go someplace. I found being here to be boring again," Lefu commented sarcastically. Superman stepped forward to stop Lefu but stopped himself before saying anything. He watched Lefu and Lyla fly away from him.
"We may not agree about what's best for her but she is safe here. I can call up enough warriors to defend our Lord Hades," Wonder Woman argued. Batman walked down to join them.
"What's wrong with her wings? They've been black since that day," Batman commented. Wonder Woman sighed.
"It's from all the sulfur she absorbed in her system. Right now, she's vulnerable. Lord Hades is now just a human. I think Darkseid has been poisoning her whenever he meets with her," Wonder Woman informed them. Superman clenched his hands into fists.
"Why do you keep calling her Lord Hades? Her name is Lefu," Superman snapped. Batman shook her head.
"No, it's Lefu. She goes by Lefu Azriel now. Lord Hades is just her title here. She's one of the gods the Amazonians worship. Your girlfriend is the archangel of death, Clark. You need to recognize that she has different names depending on where she goes," Batman explained. Superman's jaw was tense form him clenching his mouth shut. Wonder Woman stepped forward.
"The visions are getting worse. It'll happen soon. I still think it's best to keep her in the dark and watch over our Lord Hades," Wonder Woman informed them. Superman flinched at the revelation.
"So, we're just using her for bait? What then?" Superman demanded. Batman stepped in between the two, cutting off any further argument.
"Clark, you need to get over yourself. The visions are going to happen soon and if you don't get your head out of your ass, it'll go badly. Just listen to Wonder Woman on this and everything will turn out ok. Lefu is a smart girl. I'm sure she's already figured out that she's playing bait," Batman scolded. Wonder Woman looked grim.
