The next few days Brandon focused on his training with Jiraya and Kakashi. Brandon was learning to buff up the power of the Rasengan, and learning to control the Lightning Blade. He had been doing quite well.

Brandon was walking around the village, admiring all the sights, when he saw Sakura.

"Hey! Sakura!" Brandon waved. Sakura saw Brandon and smiled.

"Hey, Brandon! How's your training going?" Sakura asked.

Brandon chuckled. "No big deal! I've become so much tougher! I bet I could take on Naruto right now!"

"You probably could." Sakura said. "Which reminds me, I was looking for you! I wanted to spend some time with you, catch up a bit! I haven't seen you a whole lot lately! Wanna get some Ramen?"

Brandon thought for a minute. "Actually, let's go back to my place for a snack!"

So they walked back, talking about how Tsunade was mentoring Sakura to become a better ninja, how Naruto was in the past, and how Sakura was looking more grown up every day. Eventually they made it to Brandon's house, and the two sat at the living room.

"So are you enjoying your time here?" Sakura asked.

"Actually yes I am!" Brandon said. "Much better than back home."

"Can I ask you something?" Sakura asked.

Brandon nodded.

"What was your mother like? Did you get your handsome looks from her? Did you get your personality from her?" Sakura said.

Brandon thought about his Mom. Her long blue hair, here violet eyes, and her friendly personality.

5 year old Brandon ran around the kitchen with a pot on his head. He giggled with laughter. "Look at me!" He said. "I'm a knight in shining armor!"

His dad walked in. "I just washed that pan, Brandon! What the hell are you doing?!" He yelled.

"I'm a knight daddy! Look, I even have a sword!" Brandon said, holding a wooden spoon.

"You idiot! Go play somewhere else! You get in the way of everything!" His dad yelled.

"Dan! What's going on?" A woman said, at the doorway to the kitchen. She had bright blue hair, a dark blue shirt on, black jeans, and wore a sailboat necklace. Her violet eyes looked her husband directly in the face.

"Brandon's dirtying up dishes again!" Dan said.

"Now Dan, you can't get mad over that. We can wash them again. Besides, Brandon doesn't use them often. He mostly spends time in his room playing with his action figures." Brandon's Mom said. "Would you like me to read you a story, Brandon?"

Brandon took off the lot and put it on the floor. "Yay! Story time, story time!" Brandon ran to his Mom, clutching her leg."

"Sorry, Rachel." Dan said, a plain expression on his face.

Brandon and Rachel, Brandon's Mom, went up the stairs into Brandon's room, and Rachel read Brandon a story. Brandon lay on his bed, watching his Mom read.

"Mommy?" Brandon said.

Rachel turned to her son. "Yes, dear?"

"Why does daddy get so mad?" Brandon asked. "Does daddy hate me?"

Rachel put down the book. "Your daddy loves you, honey. He's just going through a very difficult phase."

"You mean where he gets thirsty and drinks from lots of funny bottles?" Brandon asked.

"Yes." Rachel said. "But your daddy will get through this phase. Then he'll be his normal self again."

"Okay." Brandon said. He clutched his brown teddy bear in his tiny hands.

"Oh, Brandon? Just remember this always...your mommy loves you with all her heart, no matter where she will be. Brandon, you are my life. Your life is so precious." Rachel said, running her fingers through Brandon's brown hair.

Brandon hugged his Mom. "Okay mommy. Promise?"

"Promise." Rachel said, kissing Brandon's forehead.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon remembered his childhood. He loved his mom.

"My mom was a very kind woman. She cared for me like I was the only thing in her life. Then one day, she just vanished. I never saw her again." Brandon said.

Sakura lowered her head a bit. "Such a sad story..." She said.

"More importantly, she left me alone with my dad all these years. She said she loved me, yet she was gone. Let me get hit. Let me suffer. Let me nearly die." Brandon said.

Sakura put her head on Brandon's shoulder. "She sounded like a very wonderful person." She said.

"Hey Sakura? How come Ino likes me? Like, she just met me and she thinks I'm cute." Brandon asked.

"Brandon, people like you for different reasons. Ino like you maybe because you look nice. Hinata likes your kindness. Me..." Sakura said, smiling at Brandon. "I like your personality." She looked like she really meant it.

Brandon fell down on the floor. His head stung. "Owwwccchhhh!!!" He yelled.

Sakura look worried. "Oh god! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" She asked, lifting up Brandon, examining his head.

"I should be fine...in a few minutes." Brandon said, rubbing his head.

Sakura went and got a cold cloth and put it on Brandon's head. Brandon started to feel better.

"Oh by the way, there's a festival later. Wanna go?" Sakura said.

"Sure!" Brandon said.

Sakura got up and left. "Okay, see you!" She said, leaving.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon later walked into the festival in the village. His eyes lit up at the lights, the people, the fun. Brandon was eager to have some fun.

Brandon saw Sakura walking towards him. "Hey Brandon!" She yelled. She approached Brandon. Sakura smiled. "Um...where's your traditional robes?" She asked.

Brandon never realized what Sakura was wearing. She wore a blue robe with yellow flowers. She held a fan. Brandon looked down at his blue hoodie and scarf, with his t-shirt and blue jeans.

"What?" He said. "This is fine."

"Sorry, not for the festival. Go home and get a traditional robe and come back. It's customary to wear one tonight." Sakura said.

Brandon grumbled as he walked back to his house. He looked around for a robe. He found a green one with blue flowers. He put it on, but also put on his scarf too.

"Anyone says anything about my scarf, I will personally kick their sorry butt..." Brandon said.

Brandon walked out to the festival once more. The robe felt nice. He looked around. He couldn't see Sakura anywhere.

"Huh. Not a sign of Sakura anywhere." Brandon said, scratching his head.

Brandon walked around the festival. No one he knew was there. Just complete random strangers.

Brandon gave up looking and went home. He threw his robe in the closet and climbed into his bed.

That night Brandon remembered the loneliness of his world. It haunted him.
