Soooo I'm on my menstrual cycle right now. And that's probably why I'm in my feelings right now.😩
But I just need to get this out chest. Is it just me or when you read a bwwm, interracial, or black love the leading girl always gotta be mocha, caramel type of skin color??
I mean there's nothing wrong with those skintone but like we all know that black women and men comes in all shades, literally. I think it's important to acknowledge all of them.
Like what about milk & dark chocolate ?? And is it only favorable when its a piece of candy?? Lol I'm gonna go in like Jesse Williams up in this B. 😂
But I'm serious. Growing up I had no representation from library books that had leading women characters of my skintone. None. I was stuck on reading books from white authors. And y'all know how that goes. 😕
Not that there's anything wrong with that because I got love for everybody my family raised me to love everybody the way God loves us. I never knew I would be a writer but so glad that I am because we don't get enough love. And I don't know about you but I think we deserve every love there is because... We. Are. Lit. 🔥 #BlackGirlRock

So I really want to encourage all black writers whether they're writing a bwwm, interracial, or black love. Stories. Its really important to represent all types of skins and body types. Because we all know there's more than one complexion to melanins AND severals type of shapes and height. The Lord knew we had so much to give to the world. That's why he made us all different. But we must remember what makes us different is also what makes us... unique.
This goes to the readers:
When a writer (especially a black writer) say feel free to vote, comment, and share. We are NOT saying that so we can reach a certain level. But I don't know if y'all have noticed or not. But its really hard for black writers to be discovered.
Do y'all know how hard it is to be discover at wattpad as a writer. And not just a writer but as a... black writer?? I mean it SOMEWHAT happens. BUT ITS HARD. That why I always thank y'all because I know the struggle. I've been fortunate and blessed to have awesome supporters here. But its really hard and takes time. Nevermind about the race differences overall when a writer asks for feedbacks its not they're are hungry for fame. But it is because they know how much of competitions there is on wattpad. And in order for other reader to discover NEW stories. Its happens by IT trending on whatever rank wattpad ranks it. That's how its gets noticed.
