Canis woke early the next morning. Although she could tell it was
daylight, she kept her eyes shut tight.
"It was a dream." she told herself firmly. "I dreamt a giant called
Hagrid came to tell Harry and I we were going to a school for wizards. When I open my eyes I'll be at home in our cupboard." There was suddenly a loud tapping noise "And there's Aunt Petunia knocking on the door" canis thought, her heart sinking, But she still didn't open her eyes. It had been such a wonderful dream, the tapping noise sounded again, she sighed, 'I'd better get that before it wakes up Harry.' she got up, smiling when she processed her surroundings and realized it hadn't been a dream. She quickly tucked Hagrid's coat back around Harry and got up going over to the window and opening it, a small gray owl flew in with what looked to be a newspaper clasped in its beak, it dropped the newspaper and flew towards Hagrid's coat, starting to peck at it. she sighed as Harry woke up, turning towards the large form of Hagrid on the couch and taped his shoulder saying "Hagrid there's an owl in the house and I don't know what to give it so it'll leave." Hagrid sighed and said "she wants paying, look in my pockets for five Knut's, they're the bronze ones."She went over to where Harry was sitting up and started looking through Hagrid's many pockets. she finally found five little bronze coin like things and put them in a pocket type bag on the owls leg, he quickly flew back threw the window and away.
~time skip brought to you by gringotts and gold~
We had gotten some money out of the bank and Harry and I were now getting our robes fitted while Hagrid got a pick me up at the leaky cauldron. I was scanning the boy next to Harry and carefully listening to what he was saying, I frowned at him as he got off the small stool type thing they were standing on and said "you should be nicer to those larger than you, now good day, I'll see you at Hogwarts." I stepped onto the now open stool dismissing the boy and let the nice witch start pinning my robes.
Once that was over with we met Hagrid who was standing outside with ice cream and I asked if he knew who the boy in the shop was "can't say I do, lass." Hagrid said after he thought a while I nodded.
After walking around to get everything else we need, I of course bought as many books as I could wanting to learn all I could about the wizarding world, We were on the last item on our list when Hagrid said "I still haven't gotten you two birthday presents." I smiled at the offer but said "oh no Hagrid we couldn't.." Hagrid waved me off and said "nonsense I'll buy yer animals, how about an owl, they're dead useful." I sighed but kept smiling and said "if you insist Hagrid, fine." We went to Eeylops Owl Emporium where I got an exceedingly rare barn owl with melanism that all the other owls seemed to hate, I named him October and Harry got a snowy owl named Hedwig.
Now all we needed were our wands, we headed towards Ollivanders. It was deathly quiet inside, like a library, and it seemed to be empty except for the many small rectangular boxes lining the walls and a chair that Hagrid sat on. I smiled as an old man appeared and in a very soft voice said "good afternoon." I seemed to be the only one not surprised by his sudden appearance, I shook his hand and said "hello sir, you must be Mr. Ollivander." He seemed surprised that I hadn't been shocked by his sudden arrival and said "ah yes Mrs. Potter I knew you'd be by, your a spitting image of your mother, ten and a quarter inches long, swishy, made of Willow. Nice wand for charm work."
I looked over at the surprised Harry, Mr. Ollivander followed my gaze and said "ah and Mr. Potter, you look just like your father except the eyes. Your father, favored a mahogany wand. Eleven inches. Pliable. A little more powerful and excellent for transfiguration. Well I say your father favored it-- it's really the wand that chooses the wizard, of course." Mr. Ollivander seemed to be looking intently at our scars and said "and that's where... I'm sorry to say I sold the wand that did that." I smiled politely and said "I guessed, excuse me Mr, Ollivander but could you pair me first? I was skimming a book on wandlore and I'm exceedingly interested in what wand will choose me."
He quickly turned his full attention on me and said "of course Mrs, Potter!" He seemed to be excited as he got a tape measure and asked "alright which is your wand arm?" I lifted up my right arm for him and he instantly started to take my measurements after a moment he started looking threw the box's while the tape measure continued to measure me on its own, after he finished explaining wands he looked back at me, the tape measure was measuring in between my eyes as he said "that's enough." And the tape measure crumpled to the floor he then proceeded to hand me a series of wands all of which did nothing, until he got to a particularly beautiful wand it was 12 1/2 inches, rigid, made of yew wood with Phoenix feather core. When I held it I felt a warmth in my hand and an instant connection, I waved it lightly and beautiful blue and green sparks shot out of it, there was clapping from Mr, Ollivander and Hagrid who were congratulating me on finding my wand. Once Harry had gotten his wand we paid then left.
~time skip brought to you by the Dursley's saying there's no platform 9 3/4~
Harry and I were trying to figure out how to get to platform 9 3/4. Harry wanted to ask a guard, I said it was a bad idea but he went and did it anyway, while I looked around for anyone with luggage that looked remotely close to ours. I noticed an older redheaded woman talking to her children, it seemed like they didn't belong in the station and one of the older children had an owl I put on an innocent smile and walked up to the woman pushing my luggage with me, saying "excuse me miss but my brother and I were wondering if you could help us get to platform 9 3/4?" The woman smiled at me though I didn't miss the slight worry and horror that flashed in her eyes, no doubt because of my frail, thin, boney body and much too large muggle clothes that hung off my body like sheets but I ignored it and kept smiling while she said "oh of course sweetie, why don't you watch George and Fred go first?"
I nodded and looked back at the disheartened Harry who was walking away from the guard I yelled "Harry! Get over here I found someone to help us!" He quickly pushed his luggage over to me I hit him on the head and said "you idiot I told you not to bother the guard, he was a muggle!" He rubbed his head where I hit him and muttered a soft sorry. I turned towards the nice redheaded lady and nodded again before watching the two astonished redhead twins run through the barrier after a sharp glare from there mother. She turned towards us again and said "don't worry it's Ron's first year to, you two can go before Ron now all you have to do is walk through the barrier, best to do it at a run if your scared." I thanked her and walked towards the barrier, it slowly turned into a jog and I easily went through the barrier slightly amazed to see a big bright red train and many people with owls bustling around. Though I did expect it since I had seen a picture in one of the books I bought, I looked back at the barrier as Harry ran through it I quickly checked him over and once I was satisfied that he was ok we went towards the train.
