((in my version of cokeworth, which is where Snape lives, the whole town is abandoned, Nobody lives there except Snape and nobody ever visits except Snape because the whole town was wiped out by a plague except for snape's family because wizards were immune to it.))

I took a deep breath as I sat down beside Harry and nervously said "listen Harry I really need to talk to you about something." He nodded with a confused look on his face, after all I was almost never nervous. I sighed and said "well the professors think it would be best for me if Snape was my legal guardian and i stayed with him over the summers instead of going back to the Dursley's and I wanted to know if you would be okay with that before I gave them my answer." Harry was quiet for a few moments thinking, I could see he was a bit surprised and maybe even disappointed about it.

He finally said "why Snape and why only you?" I frowned and tried to explain "well Snape volunteered but Harry look at me compared to you. I've barely recovered from being at the Dursley's, I don't think I'll be able to survive another summer with them." I sighed as their was again a long pause and added "if you need me with you at the Dursley's I won't move in with Snape. You are always my top priority Harry."

Harry nodded and said "alright nissy, go ahead and move in with Snape." I smiled half-heartedly and hugged him before leaving. it was extremely rare for Harry to call me nissy. He only ever used the nickname when I was very angry and he wanted something or when he was hurt but didn't want to show it. I knew he didn't want me to move in with Snape but for once I needed to think about myself, my life would be at risk if I didn't take the offer. I decided I'd talk to dumbledore tomorrow since I was very tired and just wanted to go to sleep.

The next day I went to Professor McGonagall first thing in the morning and asked to see Professor Dumbledore. She nodded and took me to a large gargoyle statue where she said "pumpkin pastry." The statue moved aside revealing a moving stone spiral staircase. She turned to me and said "his office is at the top." Before turning around and walking away.

I stepped onto the staircase and made my way to the top where I was met with a large round room. There were tables with trinkets that whirred and emitted puffs of smoke. The walls were covered in old headmasters and headmistresses, all who looked tired but were awake nonetheless. Dumbledore was sitting at a large claw-footed desk that was in the back of the room with a shelf behind it that held the sorting hat. The last thing I noticed was a large Phoenix sitting on a perch, I smiled at it as it preened it's beautiful wings and my own Phoenix egg hidden in my room came to mind.

I turned my attention back to dumbledore and said "good morning professor." He nodded smiling at me and said "hello canis, have you decided on where you will live from now on?" I smiled sadly and said "well professor I was wondering if I could see where I might be living before I decide. knowing professor Snape wherever he lives probably needs work so I'll need to know what things I'll need to work on the place, I might have to ask your help in getting certain things."

He chuckled and nodded before he got up and walked towards me holding out his arm as he said "hold on." I nodded and grasped his arm. In seconds I felt like I was being forced through a small tube, everything went black; I was pressed very hard from all directions; i couldn't breathe, my eyeballs were being forced back into my head; my ear-drums were being pushed deeper into my skull. I felt like I was going to puke when we finally stopped, I took a few deep breaths as I doubled over trying to get my bearings.

When I finally recovered I straightened up and looked around taking in my surroundings. The town seemed to be deserted, there weren't really any signs of life. It was dirty, damp and dilapidated.... but I liked it. I could see what looked like a rundown factory in the distance and I could hear a river nearby.
