I sighed as I woke up to another day of no notes from my secret admirer, I had been slightly depressed all summer and the only highlight had been a month ago when I had threatened to set the Dursley's house on fire if uncle Vernon burnt my mystery present, it had earned me two weeks without food but at least I'd gotten to keep my present.

as on Christmas it had no note or explanation of who it was from or why it was there, It had a white Stargazer Lily tied to it with a blue bow. When I opened it, it looked like a regular potions book, nothing unusual until I opened the book to see it was actually not a book at all but a keepsake box, I tried to touch the velvet that lined it but I found I could fit my whole arm into it with more space left. I smiled, someone who could use magic must have sent it.

I was happy I finally had somewhere to hide all my stuff. I quickly put all of Harry and i's school books in it, all my clothes so that everything I owned was inside the book and all of Harry's Hogwarts things were in it since they'd stupidly put all our things in my cupboard. I knew it was fine to use the book because I'd figured out that using magical items did not count as using magic, meaning I could easily use my book and my snake without getting in trouble.

I kept my book and my snake very close to me as I gingerly got out of the bed I slept in under the stairs, Harry was in Dudley's old second room since the Dursley's had given it to us to try and get the letters to stop, but I chose to stay under the stairs.

I left the cupboard to see it was just before everyone would be waking up, I could hear Hedwig and was happy I'd asked my secret admirer to take care of October for me, even if he had broken his promise to write me. I had to clutch the door as I got lightheaded for a second, my health had drastically declined while with the Dursley's it seemed threatening them didn't do much for me except make it to where i was punished more frequently for longer periods of time. I could count on my hands the number of meals the Dursley's had actually given me since I came back (about one a week) and though I had mostly lived off of Mrs Weasley's pies in the beginning, they had run out quickly since I ended up being allergic to half of them and had to give them to Harry.

Once the spell was over I walked to the kitchen, still clutching my book. deciding to start on breakfast early so the Dursley's would be in an ok mood for Harry and I's birthday. I wanted to get him a gift but I had no money and I couldn't use magic so he'd have to wait. As I was making breakfast everyone came downstairs, uncle Vernon was yelling at Harry about Hedwig and Aunt patunia was just fussing over Dudley. I sighed and set down the plates I'd made including one for myself since I was currently not grounded.

We all sat down, me with my book hidden on my lap, covered by my way oversized muggle clothes and began to eat as uncle Vernon continued to complain about Hedwig until Dudley let out a long, loud belch and said "I want more bacon." Aunt petunia turned Misty eyes on her son as she said "there's more in the frying pan, sweetums, we must build you up while we've got the chance..... I don't like the sound of that school food...." Uncle Vernon heartily said "nonsense petunia, I never went hungry when I was at smeltings, Dudley gets enough, don't you, son?"

I rolled my eyes as Dudley, who was so fat he couldn't fit on the kitchen chair, looked at harry and said "pass the frying pan." I chuckled when Harry said "you've forgotten the magic word," and the Dursley's lost their heads, uncle Vernon started yelling at the top of his lungs about Harry threatening Dudley. Harry finally gave in and said "all right, all right..." And though the Dursley's calmed down uncle Vernon was still eyeing us like we were bombs that could explode at any moment.

I sighed and said "happy birthday Harry." He smiled slightly and said "happy birthday canis." At that moment, uncle Vernon cleared his throat importantly and said, "now, as we all know, today is a very important day. This could well be the day I make the biggest deal of my career." I rolled my eyes again, annoyed at uncle Vernon's insensitivity but he didn't seem to notice and continued saying "I think we should run through the schedule one more time. We should all be in position at eight o'clock. Petunia, you will be ---?" Aunt petunia promptly said "in the lounge, waiting to welcome them graciously to our home." Uncle Vernon nodded and said "good, good. And Dudley?"

The fat tub of lard put on a foul, simpering smile and said "I'll be waiting to open the door. May I take your coats, Mr. And Mrs. Mason?" Aunt petunia almost had a heart attack at how 'precious' her little Dudley was, crying "they'll love him!" If I rolled my eyes anymore they'd be stuck in the back of my head. "excellent, Dudley," said uncle Vernon. Then he rounded on me and said "and you?" I grumbled and said, my voice thick with sarcasm "I'll be in my cupboard playing dead like a good little doggy." Uncle Vernon ignored my sarcasm and turned towards Harry asking "and you?" Harry, who had chuckled at my sarcasm, said "I'll be up in my room making no nose and pretending I'm not there." This went on with my answers becoming more ridiculously sarcastic every time until Dudley and uncle Vernon left to get their dinner jackets.

I smirked as Harry and I left through the backdoor, as we crossed the lawn and sat on a garden bench I sang "happy birthday to us. Happy birthday to us. Happy birthday dear us. happy birthday to us." I leaned into his larger frame (even though I'd grown an inch in the past two months) and pulled out my book, which Harry didn't know about yet and said "I may not have a real present but I have something that might cheer you up."

I opened the book, revealing it's hollow inside and stuck my hand into it saying "Harry's charms book." It was instantly in my hand and I took it out, handing it to Harry who looked amazed and confused. I chuckled and said "I have all your things in here, the book was a gift from an anonymous person to me." He smiled at me but I knew it was half-hearted, after all I couldn't give him the one thing he really wanted, I couldn't pull harmione and Ron out of the book. I took the charms book back and put it away, slightly disheartened at the fact that Harry was so sad.

I could hear Dudley's heavy footsteps coming closer before he even said anything, I decided to try and freak him out and said "what do you want Dudley?" I didn't look back at him and instead closed my eyes, not noticing that Harry was having a stare down with the bush since I was so tired. I could hear the fear in Dudley's voice as he shakily said "how d-d-did you?" I smirked and said "every time you take a step the Earth quivers in fear, screaming 'please don't jump! Please don't jump!'"

I had to admit, I'd been bullying the Dursley's a lot since I got back from Hogwarts, I really didn't care how they punished me. I could tell Dudley didn't get what I was saying so I just dropped it as he said "well I know what day it is." I chuckled as Harry said "well done, so you've finally learned the days of the week."

"Today's your birthday, how come you haven't got any cards? Haven't you even got friends at that freak place?" Dudley sneered causing me to glare at him, the comment had struck a cord since i didn't have many friends at Hogwarts. everyone pretty much hated me because I was friend with Malfoy. That and I got "special treatment" from snape. Harry coolly said "better not let your mum hear you talking about our school."

Dudley hitched up his trousers, which were slipping down his fat bottom. "Why're you staring at the hedge?" He asked suspiciously. I actually wanted to know the answer to that question. "I'm trying to decide what would be the best spell to set it on fire." Harry said causing Dudley to move backwards at once, a look of panic on his fat face as he said "you c-can't -- dad told you you're not to do m-magic -- and you haven't got anywhere else to go -- you haven't got any friends to take you --" Harry fiercely began saying words that made no sense, trying to scare Dudley "jiggery pokery! Hocus pocus! Squiggly wiggly!" I sighed as Dudley ran back to the house yelling "MUUUUUUM! MUUUUM! They're doing you know what!" I ended up having to push Harry out of the way of aunt Petunia's frying pan and getting hit instead causing me to pass out from the force.

I was in and out of consciousness for god knows how long but I remember seeing flashed of the inside of my cupboard then the inside of a car and lastly an unfamiliar ceiling and unusually loud house.
