(A/N hey so I decided to post this chapter in celebration of the fact that I have 100 followers! The hiatus is not done though so don't expect regular updates. I'm really really sorry for how long this hiatus is taking.)

When eight o'clock came around I was waiting in the great Hall and watched as everyone came streaming in. The tables had been moved and in their place was a large golden stage along one wall, lit by thousands of candles floating overhead. The ceiling was a beautiful velvety black once more and most of the school seemed to be packed beneath it. I put the book I was reading away and got my wand out.

I was partially hoping Lockhart would be teaching us so I could try and exact my revenge on him for taking the bones from Harry's arm. Everyone was chattering but I heard a few groans as Lockhart and professor Snape walked onto the large stage. Lockhart waved an arm for silence and called, "gather round, gather round! Can everyone see me? Can you all hear me? Excellent! Now, professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little dueling club, to train you all in case you ever need to defend yourselves as I myself have done on countless occasions--- for full details, see my published works.

"Let me introduce my assistant, professor Snape," said Lockhart, flashing his usual smile. "He tells me he knows a tiny little bit about dueling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before we begin. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry-- you'll still have your potions master when I'm through with him, never fear!"

I chuckled darkly and mumbled "but we might not have a defense against the dark arts teacher when he's threw with you." I noticed ron talking to Harry a little ways away and mentally noted where he was before my eyes shifted to Professor Snape who's upper lip was curling in disgust. My smile turned to a smirk, at least if I couldn't get to Lockhart professor Snape would deal with him for me.

I watched intently as Lockhart and professor Snape turned to face each other and bowed; at least Lockhart did, with much twirling of his hands, whereas professor Snape jerked his head irritably. Then they raised their wands like swords in front of them. "As you see, we are holding our wands in the accepted combative position," Lockhart told the silent crowd. "On the count of three, we will cast our first spells. Neither of us will be aiming to kill, of course."

I chuckled as my smirk turned much more sinister and I mumbled "I wouldn't count on that." I watched as professor Snape seemed to be baring his teeth.

I silently counted to three as Lockhart did "One-- Two-- Three--" my eyes were glued to Snape expectantly as both of them swung their wands above their heads and pointed them at their opponent; Snape cried: "Expelliarmus!" There was a dazzling flash of beautiful Scarlet light and Lockhart was blasted off his feet. I laughed and clapped triumphantly as he flew backwards off the stage, smashed into the wall, and slid down it to sprawl on the floor.

I cheered rather loudly with some of the Slytherins. I heard a few of the females making worried remarks but ignored their idiocy. In my eyes he deserved Whatever pain he was in and more. I smiled darkly as he got up with unsteady steps, his wand and Hat gone and his ugly hair standing on end.

"Well, there you have it!" He said tottering back onto the platform. "That was a disarming charm- as you see, I've lost my wand-- ah, thank you, miss brown-- yes, an excellent idea to show, professor Snape, but if you don't mind my saying so, it was very obvious what you were about to do. If I had wanted to stop you it would have been only too easy-- however, I felt it would be instructive to let them see...." He trailed off as he saw the murderous look on professor Snapes face I was also giving him my own murderous look and did a small spell that caused his feet to stick to the stage as he walked effectively tripping him.
