((happy Halloween everyone!))
In the weeks that followed I had been feeling less and less like Harry loved me, he never stood up for me when Ron would say something rude, sometimes he would even join in, he barely talked to me unless he had to, even harmione had stopped talking to me. The only friends I really had were my secret admirer, Draco, Hagrid and Snape. I spent most of my time either learning occlumency and legilimency from Snape, doing homework or helping Hagrid.
That day after I was done with my homework and legilimency lesson I went to see Hagrid. He had been acting suspicious and I wanted to figure out why. Unfortunately when I got to Hagrid's hut Harry, harmione and Ron were there too and they were asking about the sorcerer's Stone. I was ignored by the three when Hagrid let me into the stifling hut but I was getting used to it and just turned my attention fully on Hagrid saying "Hagrid what are you up to? You've been acting suspicious all day and a little birdy told me you were looking at dragon books in the library."
I glanced towards the fire because I was starting to sweat from how hot it was in the hut and groaned at what I saw I turned my gaze back towards Hagrid, lightly glaring at him as I said "Rubeus Hagrid why do you have a dragons egg? How did you even get a dragons egg!?" Once Hagrid explain he'd won it off a stranger I got very suspicious and it seemed the others did too but I pushed the suspicious feeling aside and sighed saying "Hagrid you can't keep a dragon in your small wooden hut, one flame and it'll go up in seconds." I groaned, he wasn't listening.
I sighed as I saw how happy he was and said "fine Hagrid I'll let you keep it until the egg hatches after that we will talk about other places for it to stay." With that I left the hut, I was slightly glad I would be studying legilimency that week instead of occlumency so Snape wouldn't know about the dragon as long as I kept the memory hidden deep in my mind.
The next day I was eating breakfast and going threw Harry's thoughts when he got a note from Hagrid that said the egg was hatching. I left his mind and quickly finished eating before I got up and left. I was back to passing classes easily so the only class I had to go to was potions. I quickly went to Hagrid's hut and helped him get ready, the egg only had a few cracks in it so it wasn't quite time yet.
When harmione, Harry and Ron finally got there it was very close to time and I was sitting with the egg in anticipation. I was more excited and impatient then I should have been but I couldn't help it, I loved animals almost as much as Hagrid and seeing a dragon hatch would undoubtedly be the most amazing experience of my life.
Suddenly there was a scraping sound and the Shell popped open revealing a beautiful baby dragon that flopped onto the table. I chuckled as it sneezed out sparks and Hagrid said "isn't he beautiful?" I nodded as I reached my hand towards the dragon and it snapped at my fingers, I didn't pull my hand back though and instead pet it gently, it lightly blew fire at Hagrid to his delight. I looked up just in time to see Hagrid's face go white as he said "someone was lookin through the Gap in the curtains - it's a kid - he's runnin' back up ter the school." Harry ran towards the door and looked out, I frowned when he said "Malfoy."
The next week I'd been helping Hagrid take care of the dragon and doing whatever work I could around the school grounds for him. Helping him along with my legilimency lessons and all my homework was exhausting me, it left little time to eat and sleep and that wasn't good at all. I still hadn't recovered from my depressive episode in December and not eating or sleeping much was only making my condition worse. Finally hagrid agreed to send the dragon to Ron's brother Charlie.
