chapter twenty-eight

I was woken up by the soft sound of Levi's voice in my ear as he said "the human is here to see you." My eyes opened slowly, I felt well rested and so much better than I had been. I slowly sat up, wiping a small bit of dried drool off my chin. Most girls would probably feel embarrassed at being seen when first woken up but I didn't really care at the moment since I wasn't trying to impress anyone. Though I did ask the small metal snake that was now around my wrist to turn into a hair brush so I could brush my hair.

The tiny snake quickly slithered down to my hand and transformed into a beautiful ornate brush I straightened out my pajamas as I turned towards him and smiled saying "morning Draco, thank you for coming here. I wanted to thank you for saving my life and having Levi healed." I stood and hugged him in thanks. He seemed to be surprised by the sudden gesture as his back tensed and after a moment of hesitation he hugged me back and said "you should really be thanking Levi he's the one who led me to you."

I nodded and said "I'll make sure he knows how thankful I am. I really do owe you both my life so if there's anything I can do to make it up to you just tell me, alright? Though this doesn't excuse any future bullying of Harry, I will still hex you if I hear you have done anything to harm him." Draco sighed and was about to say something when madame pomfrey came in and shooed him out so she could check me over.

Once she was sure I was fine she cleared me to leave though not before she gave me a very long lecture on why I shouldn't be sleeping in the hallways when there's a blizzard outside. I assured her I wouldn't make the same mistake again and then left quickly with Levi riding on my shoulders.

On my way to breakfast I bumped into Fred and George who looked to be on the way to the infirmary though I couldn't see anything wrong with them. I was slightly surprised when Fred hugged me tightly causing Levi to slither onto my head and hiss in annoyance. I chuckled as I hugged him back and looked towards George asking "hey Georgy what's wrong with freddy?" George chuckled and said "we've been worried about you for the past two days. We just heard you were found sleeping in the halls with hypothermia the other day and we were on our way to check on you but it seems you're back in good health."

I nodded and lightly pushed Fred back saying "you're right, I'm perfectly fine now but thank you for your concern. Now who's willing to carry Levi and I to breakfast, I'm starving and why walk when you two strong men are here." they chuckled and a squeak of surprise slipped threw my lips as Fred scooped me up in his arms bridal style. Levi hissed at him again, he didn't seem to like Fred very much but I thought it was cute.

I moved Levi from my head into my lap as Fred began to make his way to the great hall. He was being unusually quiet so I asked "freddy is something wrong? Your being very quiet. Is it because Levi doesn't like you I promise he won't bite he knows what will happen if he does." I blew out a light breath and a small stream of flames left my lips in it's place. George was very surprised by that and said "wait since when can you breathe fire!? How is that even possible!?" I smirked confidently and said "haven't you heard I'm the heir of slytherin I can do whatever I want." i transfigured my tongue into that of a snakes and stuck it out at him.

Fred chuckled and said "oh yes my apologies great heir of Slytherin." George cut in as we were just outside the great hall and asked "how about a grand entrance oh great heir of Slytherin?" I squeaked again as I was lifted up to sit on their shoulders. Levi got even more aggravated and hissed at them again as he slithered up onto my shoulders and said "foolish humans you will all be killed!" I sighed it was always fun to be around George and Fred, they allowed me to act my age for a little bit but I was always pulled back down to earth by something or someone.
