I was making my way threw my potions book, correcting a few of the recipes and leaving notes for myself. I had decided not to read any of Gilderoy Lockhart's books because I knew he hadn't done any of the things he said he had and I was not going to sit there and read about something that wasn't true. if the books were about the people who had actually done those things I would have happily read all of the books but they weren't and that ruined them for me.

When the day finally came for us to go back to Hogwarts the whole Weasley family was rushing around. I was the first ready to go since I had everything i needed in my keepsake book.

It took a while but we finally got to Kings Cross at a quarter to eleven. I was in front of everyone else since I had no luggage so I glanced around to see no muggles were looking and speed-walked threw the barrier. I waited for Harry to come threw anxiously but he never showed up, I tried to go back threw the barrier but I couldn't. I sighed I couldn't go back and if I didn't get onto the train now I'd miss it, I could only hope Mr, And Mrs, Weasley could get back threw the barrier and the boys were waiting for them. I ran towards the train and just barely got on in time.

I met with Draco in the aisle and he asked if I wanted to sit with him, I nodded but first told harmione about the barrier so she knew Before spending the rest of the ride in a compartment with Draco, Crabbe and goyle. I couldn't help playing with my pendent since I was very worried about Harry and I'd developed the habit of fidgeting with it when I was worried or nervous. To my surprise Draco ended up buying me some candy from the trolly, I was a bit suspicious but ate it happily since I was actually very hungry.

I'd been thinking over the summer that I should start training my body as well as my mind since I had been to weak to help Harry when he was going after Quirrell and I didn't want that to happen again. I needed to be stronger for Harry, I had to be able to keep him safe and brains and magic didn't seem to work as well as I thought they would.

My train of thought was interrupted as Draco shook my shoulders and said "you should change into your robes we'll be at school soon." I nodded, taking my robes out of my keepsake book since I trusted Draco not to look in it and left to do as he suggested.

keeping my hair in a high pony tail and making sure my pendent could be seen. I walked back towards the compartment in my beautiful black robes and frowned when I saw Draco with my keepsake book in his hands. I glared at him and said "give that back or I'll hurt you Malfoy." He quickly took his empty hand out of it and shut it, giving it back to me.

I left the compartment with my book and sat in the compartment with harmione staying quiet, stewing in my anger. When we got to the school I sat in a carriage with harmione and Neville. Draco tried to get me to let him sit with us but I just glared at him until he gave up and left me alone. Neville asked me where Harry was and I told him about the gate not working but the rest of the ride was silent.

I was still angry with Draco and I was sure the others could tell because I ended up eating alone at the feast, nobody talked to me or even looked in my general direction as I glared at the table eating my food. My anger intensified when I overheard a rumour that Harry and Ron had crashed a flying car into the whomping Willow. the candle flames above me flared and grew five times as big as the other candles. my hands were clenched tightly as I walked towards the common room my knuckles turned white from the pressure. Instead of staying in the common room like everyone else I went up to my room, which I again shared with nobody else, and went to sleep not wanting to hear all the praise Harry and Ron would get for being stupid.

The next day I was planning on ignoring both Ron and Harry but then Mrs Weasley sent a howler and i noticed Ron's wand was broken so I figured that was punishment enough. I ended up only ignoring Malfoy which actually seemed to bother him. I looked over my schedule to see we had double herbology with Hufflepuff's and smiled Happily, my love of plants was only second to my love of animals.

I sighed as we walked towards the greenhouses and I noticed a very annoyed professor sprout holding an armful of bandages, accompanied by Lockhart. (I also refused to call him professor) he ended up taking Harry aside for a talk to my dismay. When we finally started class professor sprout asked "now, who can tell me the properties of the Mandrake?" Harmione and I raised our hands and I ended up getting called on so I said "Mandrake, or mandragora, is a powerful restorative, it is used to return people who have been transfigured or cursed to their original state, it's leaves are also used in the process of becoming an animagus."

"Excellent. Ten points to Gryffindor," said professor sprout. "The Mandrake forms an essential part of most antidotes. It is also, however, dangerous. Who can tell me why?" I figured I'd let harmione answer and kept my hand down as her's shot up and she promptly said "the cry of a Mandrake is fatal too anyone who hear's it." Professor sprout nodded and said "precisely. Another ten points to gryffindor. Now, the mandrakes we have here are still very young."

She pointed to the row of mandrakes and we all moved forward to get a better look as she continued "everyone take a pair of earmuffs," I quickly picked up a black puffy pair in front of me before turning my attention back to professor sprout as she said "when I tell you to put them on, make sure your ears are completely covered, when it's safe to remove them, I will give you the thumbs-up. Right -- earmuffs on." I slipped the earmuffs on, making sure they were tight over my ears before turning my attention forward as professor sprout pulled an odd baby like thing out of the pot. I recognized it as a Mandrake as she quickly stuck it deep in another, bigger pot burying it in dark, damp compost until only the tufted leaves were visible. She dusted off her hands and gave us all a thumbs up before she took off her own earmuffs.

I slipped off my earmuffs as she said "as our mandrakes are only seedlings, their cries won't kill yet, however, they will knock you out for several hours, and as I'm sure none of you want to miss your first day back, make sure your earmuffs are securely in place while you work. I will attract your attention when it is time to pack up."

We quickly started and it wasn't as easy as it seemed, especially for me. it took all my strength to pull the mandrake from the pot and I had to have help getting it into the new pot, only solidifying the need i felt to become stronger. By the end of class I looked much worse then everyone else. i was caked head to toe in dirt, sweat and compost and i even had a few scratches. I sighed, disappointed in myself as I made my way back to the castle to get cleaned up before making my way towards transfiguration.

I was happy to be in transfiguration class. this was a class that only needed mental strength and I had that in spades. I relaxed as I turned beetle after beetle into buttons. By the time class was over my stomach felt like it was eating itself and I was glad it was time for lunch.

I ate hungrily as I listened to the conversations around me. just as i finished my plate and got up to follow harry and the others outside professor McGonagall came up to me and said "miss potter, i would like to discuss something with you, if you would please come with me." i nodded, slightly confused and following her out of the great hall. when we got to her office, i was even more confused to see professor Snape and professor Dumbledore inside, seemingly waiting for me. i was ushered into a seat and offered a biscuit, to which i accepted and ate happily before asking "okay, what's this about?"
