The next day I found out harmione, Neville and Harry had lost a lot of points for Gryffindor, I felt horrible. I hadn't noticed they had neglected to use the invisibility cloak when they left and I should have. Their wasn't really anything I could do to help, I couldn't hex every student in Hogwarts and it seemed everyone knew that though they did quiet when I came around and I did still defend Harry, harmione and Neville whenever someone said something within earshot.

I was back on the slow path to recovery now that Norbert was gone and Hagrid had insisted that I not help him as often until I had gained some of my weight back and become more healthy. Professor Snape had cut down on the occlumency and legilimency lessons since he was beginning to get busy so the only thing I really had to do was homework and classes, which I had begun attending again.

When it came time for Harry, harmione, Neville and Malfoy to do their detention I was healthy enough to join. my bones were still showing but not as badly as before and my new robes mostly hid the fact that I was almost all skin and bones. Besides even if I was on my death bed i wouldn't let Harry enter the Forest without me.

I had been waiting with Hagrid for half an hour causing me to become thoroughly annoyed when they finally showed up. I glared menacingly at Filch as he tried to scare the four and said "shut your trap Filch and go watch for students out of bed. It's not your place to lecture and scare them, that's why I'm here."

"I'll be back at dawn," Filch said, "for what's left of them," he added rather nastily before making his way back to the castle. Now it seemed it was malfoy's turn to say something "I'm not going in that forest,"

"Yeh are if yeh want ter stay at Hogwarts," said Hagrid fiercely. "Yeh've done wrong an' now Yeh've got ter pay fer it." When Malfoy went to retaliate I cut him off saying "you know Malfoy you have two choices you could go into the forest or I could make good on my threat. I could make it to where you can't move, your trapped in a bubble, spitting up slugs and covered in boils. And I won't stop after doing it just once, oh no every time I see you I'll put the exact same hexes on you until we leave the school I may even continue to do it after then. So you have your choice, choose."

He looked horrified and terrified but I knew the threat had worked because his face was pale white and he stayed silent. I nodded as everyone looked at me like I was Lord Voldemort reincarnated but Hagrid got their attention as he said "right then, now, listen carefully, 'cause it's dangerous what we're gonna do tonight, an' I don' want no one takin' risks. Follow me over here a moment."

We followed him to the very edge of the forest. holding his lamp up high, he pointed down the narrow, winding earth track that disappeared into the thick black trees. A light breeze lifted our hair as we looked into the forest. "Look there," he said, "see that stuff shinin' on the ground? Silvery stuff? That's unicorn blood. There's a unicorn in there bin hurt badly by summat. This is the second time in a week. I found one dead Wednesday. We're gonna try an' find the poor thing. We might have ter put it out of its misery."

My gaze saddened as I looked down at the silvery unicorn blood on the ground. I had spent a lot of time with the unicorns and to hear that they were being killed tore at my heart. "And what if whatever hurt the unicorn finds us first?" Draco said, trying to keep the fear from his voice. I ignored him as hagrid said "there's nothin' that lives in the forest that'll hurt yeh if yer with me, canis or fang, an keep ter the path. Right, now we're gonna split inter two parties an' follow the trail in diff'rent directions. There's blood all over the place, it must've bin staggerin' around since last night at least."
