Chapter Thirty-three

(so sorry I'm late guys, I just started a third shift job and it's throwing off my schedule, hope you guys enjoy the chapter!)

I walked calmly through the corridors of the castle. I was on a mission but I was in no rush, after all the best revenge is slow and painful. Once I finally got to the entrance to the slytherin common room I muttered the password and went inside. Draco stood when he saw me and walked towards me but I ignored him and walked towards pansey who was sitting and laughing with some other idiots. I was still quite upset with malfoy and for the moment chose to give him the silent treatment.

I stopped right in front of pansy causing her to look at me in annoyance and slight fear. She huffed and said in a very snotty and stuck up voice "what do you want Potter?!" I didn't even blink as I lifted my hand causing her to lift into the air she screeched in indignation so I cast a tongue tying curse on her and said "shut up and listen you stupid little rat, you took someones shoes in the middle of winter as a joke. Have you any idea how cold the floors are? No? Well let me show you." I flicked my fingers and cast a freezing spell on her causing her entire body up to her neck to be covered in ice. The look of terror on her face only fueled me as I continuing "oh you needn't worry I won't leave you long enough for frostbite to set in. I'm simply trying to educate you. You've been warned, stop being such a bully or I'll do much worse to you. If the students in voldemorts time were as stupid as they are today I understand why he became a dark lord. Smarten up before I decide to go bad to." I dropped my hand causing her to fall to the floor. The ice around her shattered and she instantly began to shiver but I didn't care. I marched out of the slytherin common room as they all stared after me in shock.

As I walked to Hagrids hut it occurred to me that I may have been a bit too aggressive but I was at my wits end lately and it was beginning to effect me. Why was everyone at hogwarts so stupid? Why was my brother so stupid? I sighed heavily as I could feel a headache coming on from all the stress I felt. I hoped some time with Hagrid and the forest would cure me but I wasn't so sure if it would.

Soon enough I was finally at Hagrids hut, though my head was now pounding. He invited me inside for some tea and rock cakes before we would be going into the forest as he usually did. We talked as I began to relax though my headache persisted. It was nice to have a simple talk with someone who wasn't usually doing something extremely wrong... Though there was that time with norberta. After a while we finished our tea and went into the forest, we would first be going to see aragog a good friend of Hagrid and I's. At first he wouldn't allow me to see him without Hagrid but after bringing a bit of food and helping to patch up a few of his babies he grew to like me almost as much as Hagrid. His attitude had also drastically changed after the unicorn had blessed me, as had many of the creatures of the forest. I still wasn't completely sure why but it was nice to not have to fear my death as much anymore.

When we got to where aragog lived he slowly came out of his den, many of his children were around but they no longer made my skin crawl when I was around them. i walked up to him as i said "hello aragog, how are you and your babies doing? anyone need to be patched up?" he seemed to regard me as usual and his old voice said "hello hagrid, canis. my children are fine for the moment though many of them have to find new homes." it crossed my mind that spiders were known to fear the basilisk and i sighed quietly at the reminder. i nodded my understanding and said "well i could help them look if you'd like. i can get threw the forest fast on my broom and i'm sure there's enough space for all here."

a deep sound almost like a chuckle rang from aragog as he said "you and hagrid are much alike canis. you may do as you wish but my children are already looking, most will stay here with me until the great evil in the school is contained." i patted his leg and turned to hagrid saying "i'm going to look threw the forest hagrid, don't worry i'll get back to the school soon. I've got plans with George and Fred and I can't miss them this time." said grounds keeper nodded and i took my broom from my keepsake book and flew off threw the many webs to find somewhere for aragogs babies.

the air rushing past and the small sounds of the forest helped me to relax fully and my headache finally began to subside. I noticed a few spiders jumping threw the trees below me and chuckled as I continued on my way. I waved to a few of the centaurs as I passed by them and stopped by the now slightly more grown unicorn I'd saved the year before, giving it a loving pat before going on my way. I found a few empty holes and hollowed out trees for a couple of aragogs children but it was soon time for me to return to the castle to help Fred and George with their pranks. I asked the spider I'd just found a home for to pass my goodnight to aragog and after receiving a few odd noises I took to mean ok, I left.

I got to the castle quickly and stored away my broom in my keepsake book before quickly making my way to the common room. I'd gotten a little faster at running from the time I spent exercising in the forest so I got to the commons rather quickly. The first thing I was greeted with as I opened the portrait entrance was green smoke pouring out into the hallway. Oddly enough the smoke smelt of cooked salmon and I wasn't sure why. I made a flicking motion with my hand into the smoke filled common room and a small gust of wind blew threw causing the smoke to be pushed out of an open window and the entrance. I sighed at the sight of Fred and George coughing out green smoke in front of the fireplace and went inside allowing the portrait to close behind me.

Fred was the first to look up and smiled as he said "canis! You made it, we almost thought you'd forgotten us again." more green smoke spewed from his mouth as he spoke causing me to roll my eyes and say "I realize I've been neglecting you boys lately and I'm sorry, I've just been very stressed. However I'm here now and I'd like to know why you're both spewing green smoke that smells like salmon. What's the point in this prank or should I call them products?" George was the one to answer as he said "we were trying to create a potion that makes your breath smell horrid." I chuckled at the obvious failure and said "alright, simple enough, though it seems you've failed quite spectacularly, the only effect your breath has is to make me hungry for fish and the green smoke is rather bothersome. If you could switch the color to red it could come in handy for quidditch games though. What shows more house spirit them breathing red smoke as we yell out encouragement though it may make visibility a bit of a problem." The rest of the night was spent helping the twins develop potions and spells of the sort.
