Zoe texted me and then she called me. I answered on the first ring. There was a breif second where we both said nothing, then at the same time we both spoke.

"I love you."

Our words fit together perfectly and I couldn't help but smile. Everything Louise had said, everything my friends had told me before, about how I was lucky to have Zoe. It was all true. I'd always somewhat believed it, but now I really knew how true it was.

"Alfie, I'm so sorry," Zoe said starting to branch off into a long speech about how she felt so bad and it was all her fault but I stopped her.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm sorry too. It was my fault as well," I said softly leaning back on the couch.

"Want to meet halfway?" she asked and I grinned even more.

There was a hotel in a small town that Zoe and I sometimes went to when we wanted to see each other but we didn't want to go the whole two hours to meet up. I took the train and Zoe drove, we could usually be there in about 45 minutes.

"Most definitely. See you in about an hour and a half?" I asked already standing up and walking upstairs to pack.

"See you then," she said hanging up the phone. I was already in my room halfway packed.

______________

I was sitting on the bed in mine and Zoe's regular hotel room when there was a knock at the door and I heard the card clicking into the slot. A flutter went through my heart as I knew I was about to see her.

The door flew open and she walked in throwing her bags on the ground and running to me. I opened my arms and inveloped her in a hug before we kissed. "I missed you," she whispered in my ear.

"And I you," I said with a grin as I just wrapped my arms tighter around her.

After Zoe and I had unpacked a bit we were both on our laptops on the bed scrolling through tumblr and various different social media sites. Then out of the blue Zoe spoke.

"I want to move out next year."

I had always known that Zoe wanted to move out soon. She was 23 and still lived with her dad and brother. I didn't know that she wanted to do it so recently though. I thought that she wanted to wait a little bit more. Especially because of her recent relapse of anxiety.

"That's great Zo!" I said averting my attention from my glowing screen and turning it towards her.

"I want to move to Brighton," she said softly. "Would you-" she stopped and looked at me, our eyes locking. "Would you want to move in with me?" she asked timidly.

"Of course I would," I said, a large grin taking up the majority of my face. I couldn't wait for the new year.
