Skylar

I was the Luna. I was the freaking Luna of the River Hollows pack. How was that even possible? I could have sworn when Ryan had been talking about his mate, he wasn't referring to me. It had been clear it was someone else so how could it be me?

My thoughts were going crazy while Lish was driving us to whatever this boutique was she had been talking about. I had my head in my hand and I was leaning against the passenger door. After Lish had pulled me out of the living room, I had been in a state of shock I guess. Because I couldn't wrap my head around that. Wait, maybe that was why I felt all those things around Ryan. The sparks whenever we touched, the warm feeling that blossomed whenever we met each other's gaze.

"Hey." Lish said and I turned to her, an eyebrow raised. "You okay?" she looked at me from the corner of her eyes while her hands held tight to the wheel.

I nodded and took a deep breath. "Yeah. I'm just..."

She nodded and I wondered if she understood just by that. "Yeah. This must be quite overwhelming for you, finding out you're not human and you come from a family of giant dogs. That's gotta be weird."

Okay maybe she didn't understand but I nodded anyway and she pulled into a parking lot. She parked in front of a small boutique. It was pink and it had Lacy's Boutique in pretty cursive letters on the door. Under it, the words Think Pink were scrawled in messy handwriting with what looked like a dry erase marker.

Lish exited the car and I followed. A small bell dinged as we walked in. There were only a few girls in there. Five were pulling dresses off the racks while the sixth seemed to be an employee. She looked up when the bell dinged and smiled widely.

Walking up, she gave Lish a hug. "Oh my gosh Lish! You look good! I haven't seen in you in what-"

"Four days?" Lish laughed as I watched with only a tiny bit of interest. My mind was mostly on the whole werewolf stuff and the whole situation that literally happened like ten minutes ago.

But before I could get lost in my thoughts again, the girl turned to me. "I see you've made a new friend. Mind introducing us, Lish?"

I got a weird vibe off of this girl but I couldn't place it. I could tell she wasn't a werwolf but she wasn't human either. How I knew that, I had no idea. Lish smiled. "Oh this is Skylar."

Her eyes clouded over and I realized that they were communicating through their minds. Great. Now I felt left out. The girl's eyes widened as she turned to me. She lowered her head slightly. Okay. Obviously that was the sign of submission but I technically wasn't Luna yet. Was I? This was so confusing. She kept her head lowered and I realized I had to give her a sign. I nodded my head slightly and she raised it again. This was weird. She held out her hand. "I'm Lacy, owner of this here shop."

I forced a smile and shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you, Lacy."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Luna." She replied and went to the cash register.

Lish looked annoyed. She sighed and I looked at her. "Sorry for that. The Luna thing, it's just a thing we do here. I'll explain later."

She walked to one of the racks and I snorted. So she didn't know that I was aware of what I was. I mean, I hadn't come to terms with it yet, but I still kind of knew it was true.

I shook my head and followed Lish. She started handing me multiple shirts, shorts, skirts, jeans, dresses and a few pairs of sandals. After about five more minutes of walking around the racks, she finally pulled out a blouse and set it on top of the growing pile in my arms.
