Brooklyn’s POV

It’s been four years since that summer. I still think about him all the time. I mean I can’t not. I have the reminder on my ribcage in black ink. They are also everywhere. 5 Seconds of Summer hit it big not too long after. I took a year off from college to find myself I guess. I still go therapy, and am in a much better place than I was. I attend NYU for journalism. I just recently landed a paid internship with a small newspaper. So far I love it. It’s my dream job. I have actually made some friends, Dia and Reagan my two roommates.

“Brooklyn!” Dia waves her hand in front of my face. “You zoned out again! I thought you were passed that?”

            “Me too,” I sigh.

“Well let’s go we gotta make our last final!” I grab my book bag and head out to the subway to campus. “Girl, we are done! Done for the summer!” Dia throws her arms around my shoulder, and I throw mine around hers. “I was thinking we should totally take a trip somewhere! Like Australia or something!” I stop smiling at her words.

“Um I don’t think I can. I’ve still got my internship. They said if I work hard this summer, they would hire me on full time!”

            “B, you work too hard.”

“I know. But you know me, that’s how I keep busy and sane.”

“If you work too hard, you’ll drive yourself insane!” I ignore her comment as we walk into the apartment.

            “Hey, Reagan!”

“Hey bitches!” that’s a term of endearment coming from her. “So where are we going out tonight to celebrate?” I groan.

“Can I just stay in and catch up on sleep?”

“Nope!” Reagan says. “We all know you don’t sleep anyways. You never have. I think we should try that new club a few blocks over that just opened last weekend!”

“Yes! I’ve been dying to go there!” Dia agrees.

            “But I don’t wanna!”

“You don’t have a choice. You’re going to call that gorgeous boyfriend of yours and tell him to meet us there. Ok?” I know they aren’t going to let me get out of it.

“Fine.” I take out my phone and text Graham, my boyfriend of a year. He is sweet, and yes completely gorgeous. We are moving in together starting in a week. Not waiting for his reply I throw my phone on my bed and leave to shower. Slightly curling my hair, putting on a strapless black skater dress and a pair of red wedges I’m ready. After getting into the club I immediately order a drink.

“Hey there beautiful!” Graham’s voice is low in my ear. His arms snake around my waist.

“Hi,” I spin around in his arms to kiss his lips.

Luke’s POV

“C’mon, Man! The plane is boarding!” Ashton yells to me. I finish up my goodbyes to my parents and follow him onto the plane.

“Mates, Can you believe we are going to America! On our own tour?!” Calum points out. I never would have thought we’d be here. The tour kicks off in California and wraps up in New York. Then we are staying there for a few weeks to start some new music.  After that summer I thought about her everyday, I still do. I hope that she is doing better. I’ve been with a few other girls, actually just recently out of a relationship. Turns out she was cheating on me. It hurt. But not as bad as when Brooklyn left.

“It’s going to be amazing!” I am nervous about being in New York City, but it’s a big city. The chances of seeing her are slim. With that comforting thought I drift off to sleep.

The tour goes by impossibly fast, and before I know it we are staying in New York.

“Can we please go out tonight?” Ashton begs.

“You can. I’m just not feeling it mate.”

“C’mon Luke! You have to come! It’ll be fun, I promise!”

“Fine.” I give in. Two hours later the four of us are making our way to this new club Ashton found. I grab a drink and make my way to a table in the corner hoping to be left alone. Out of the corner of my eye I spot someone who looks a lot like Brooklyn. Her face is connected to a guy, so I can’t get a good look. I’m probably just imagining it. After a while I feel the effects of the beers I’ve had and decide to head back to the hotel. Trying to find one of the guys to tell, I spot Ashton in a corner talking to a girl. Calum and Michael are talking at the bar. “Hey, I’m going back.”

            “It’s still early!”

“I didn’t want to come out in the first place. I’ll see you guys later, ok?”

“See ya mate.” I leave the club and walk the streets aimless for a bit, finally ending up at the hotel. I strip to my boxers, flop into bed and hope that I can sleep tonight.

So they're finally in the same city again!! Do you think they'll have an encounter? Comment, vote!! Since this chapter is a bit short, I'm most likely going to double update!! :) I have the first half of the next part, so I am just finishing up! xo -Rachel
