George took a seat on one of Brian's chairs in front of his desk. He awkwardly folded his hands into his lap as Brian rolled his chair closer under his desk. He looked at George expectingly and suddenly he wanted to cower out.

"Something I can do?" Brian tilted his chin up.

"Since I'm in HR, I thought I should come tell you that it is highly inappropriate for you to transfer John because of relationship issues" George was stuttering through the bold accusation. Brian squinted his eyes and began messing with a few things on his desk.

He'd tilt a few things to the side and press his thumb into the corners of anything. "What are you trying to accuse me of? George?"

"Oh- well nothing really" George hiccuped and started playing with his fingertips. "It's just, a bad relationship is not something you should base a transfer on"

Brian took a sip of the mug of tea he had resting near the edge of the desk. "Pattie requested a transfer after the end of your relationship. Which if I'm remembering correctly, didn't get disclosed to HR"

The shock went down George's throat and sat in his stomach. "Why didn't it get granted?"

"She changed her mind. Point stands George, relationships make a lot of the office appropriate things fuzzy" Brian flicked his pen and turned to his computer.

"Damnit Brian, I know exactly what you're feeling and it sucks but build a damn bridge and get over it!" George leaned forward in his seat. "I'll report this to cooperate if you go with what you want to do"

Brian slid his hand down from his hair to the tip of his chin. "Alright George, I get it. I won't do it"

George smiled. "It's the right thing to do. Anyway I'd better get back to that Richard lad" George tapped Brian's desk as he stood.

"How's his performance? We've got to hire somebody by the end of the month." Brian asked.

"Pretty average I'd say" George shrugged, realizing he should probably go back out there. Brian dismissed him and he fled the office with a little rush.

He went back to his back room and Richard was on the phone, leaning his elbows forward. "So the order wasn't as you asked? Uh-huh. Who took your order? Well I will make sure to see that you get exactly what you asked for. Yes. I'll call you right back" Richard hung up the phone and smiled down at the desk.

"I could never do that job, don't have enough patience" George smiled and took a seat next to him. Richard looked up and chuckled.

"Been told it'll be all I'm good at" the lad shrugged. George widened his eyes a tiny bit.

"I'm sure that ain't true. But you are very good at this" George looked over Richards files. "So tell me about yourself" he put the files down.

"Well, I'm hardworking-"

"You don't have to filter it for work stuff, tell me something interesting" George laughed. Richards eyes brightened.

"Oh! Well once when I was six I fell into a coma for two months for an appendix inflammation" Richard laughed.

"You spent a lot of time in hospital as a kid?" George leaned forward.

"Yeah I did." He nodded.

"I spent some time in hospital as a kid too, I was in for seven weeks. The food was disgusting, I got in trouble actually for throwing it out the window" George snickered.

Before Richard could ask for more information, Brian walked in. "Ello, Richard may I borrow you?"

"Course" he shot up with a smile, looking down to George. "I have to hear that story sometime....hopefully here" Richard hinted that he wanted to be hired.
