Pattie observed Astrid mutely but threw her face into different expressions just as Astrid would pitch an idea. "You know what? I'll just discuss it with the two of them. They're adults, aren't they?"

Pattie finally made a noise but it was an unappreciative clearing of her throat. "You're talking about John and Stuart, Astrid. I think you should think of some other way to get them to speak to each other." Pattie waved her pencil around but Astrid just frowned.

"I'll take an idea if you got one!" She huffed, her heels clicking along the pavement as they came in from their lunch break. Pattie opened her mouth but quickly clamped it shut again. "Exactly my point!" Astrid pointed angrily as Pattie threw the door open. They stepped into the office building and headed straight for the lift.

As the lift doors slowly closed and confined the girls, Astrid spoke again. "So, I still haven't gotten a clue as to what's been troubling you?"

Pattie suddenly felt uncomfortable in the tight space and shrugged. "Nothing really."

"S'gotta be something luv!" Astrid continued to press.

"Well...you know how George and I broke up, right?" Pattie began hesitantly but Astrid was eagerly awaiting.

"Differing interests, is what ya told me." She shrugged and Pattie bit her lip.

"Well we actually broke up because of one very similar interest...."

Astrid twisted her face in confusion and waited for Pattie anything more but she didn't. So she thought about it for a minute. "Oh, so he's actually Gay!? I just thought Jane accused him of being Pauls lover cause she's paranoid!" Astrid chuckled.

Pattie huffed and Astrid nodded. But the doors to the lift opened and a lad in suit from a neighboring business stood waiting for it. Astrid threw Pattie a look and thrust her arm out, pressing her finger into the down button. The doors closed, the man tried to stop it but it was too late.

"So, the other day I saw him and...a man-"

"Don't tell me anything I don't need to know!" Astrid covered her ears but Pattie quickly reached over and snapped them back to her side.

"Kissing. And we'll it made me....jealous and I think I made it too obvious." Pattie gulped and fell back to lean on the wall.

"Who was he kissing?" Astrid skimmed right over Patties issue, she frowned and crossed her arms.

"Doesn't matter."

Astrid shrugged. "Alright, well it's just gonna have to pass. You're with Eric, happily if I'm correct?"

Pattie nodded. "So, all's well. You can talk to him?"

Pattie frowned and they went back up to the office.

John was loosening his collar that Paul had done up for him before he left. He approached his desk, where Stuart was tapping away anxiously.

"Something you want from me?" John asked with a harsh bite in his tone. Stuart frowned.

"Listen mate-"

Astrid and Pattie flew into the office and caught sight of the pair. Astrid slowly stole a quick reassuring rub on Stuart's back as she sat in her seat.

"Look, John. I'm sorry for everything." Stuart could barely say it without cringing. John huffed his breath and sat in his chair.
