When Paul came home, Jane was padding her feet across the carpet with a glass of wine curled in her hand. She looked up to meet his eyes, she didn't say anything, she just lifted the glass to her mouth again. Paul walked further into the house and leaned on the counter as she set her glass back down. "I don't understand, so explain it to me" she started, tapping the granite.

"I'm sorry, I was with John and I was helping him clean out his storage unit-"

"And you forgot about me? You're fiancé, Paul! To help clean your mates storage unit?" Jane shook her head in disbelief. "Anyway I've been talking to Pattie-"

"From the office?" Paul scrunched up his nose.

"Yes, from the office and she told me that everyone from work is going out tomorrow night to celebrate the increase in sales and I want to come with" Jane nodded her head. "Patties bringing Eric" she justified.

"Ok, that's fine. It's not a problem, you are my fiancé after all" Paul tried to chuckle. Jane clicked her tongue and nodded.

"Lets go to bed, yeah?" She smiled softly as Paul took her hand and they walked upstairs.

The next night, Jane was buzzing around the flat in a sleek short black dress. Clicking her heels around and poking her earrings through her ears.

"Paul! We're gonna be late!" She huffed by the front door. "You take way longer than I do!"

"Aye! I'll be down in a minute!" Paul shouted. Jane looked at her watch and tapped her foot as Paul flung down the stairs.

"You ready?" Jane smirked and turned to open the door, Paul taking it to hold it for himself as she dashed out. They got into the car and Jane fussed with her outfit and her hair, staring in the rear view mirror. "Anything I need to know about your work friends?"

Paul curled his lips to the side and thought about it. "Well George and Pattie used to date, their just getting to be friends again. Don't know a lot about Pete, Astrid and Stu are a serious couple, he doesn't like me."

Jane put her hand down in her lap "why doesn't he like you?"

"Well, I'm sure it's because He and John were pretty close and I came back..." Paul shrugged and tried to focus on the road. Jane however seemed slightly irritated.

"You came back and what..?"

"Well, John and I were friends back when I lived in Liverpool actually" he scratched behind his ear.

"You were? How come I didn't know that?" Jane turned to face him in the dark car. "I've met him a few times so..?"

"Well I never thought it was important"

"I told you about all my mates" Jane raised her nose up. Paul chuckled

"Never asked for that, did I?"

"That's not funny, Paul. Since when is not wanting to hear what your fiancé says funny?" Jane subconsciously started to braid her hair.

"C'mon, Jane I was just joking!" Paul pulled into the restaurant parking lot. He turned the car off and looked over at her, pouting in the passengers seat. "Jane, what do you want to do? Do you want to hash this out now and go home?"

Jane pulled at her earlobe and turned to him with obvious anger. " you want to go home, don't ya? You can't go out with me for more than ten minutes?"

Paul couldn't take the accusing tone and slammed his head down on the wheel, making the car horn go off. He shot his head back up and Jane was absolutely horrified, she opened the car door and hopped out. "Let's go" she mumbled and started to walk up, stopping at the doors. Paul rolled his eyes and followed her inside. She eyed him until he put his arm around her waist like a gentleman. The hostess smiled at them.
