I pace the destroyed living room thinking about Belle. I look around noticing all the damage that the attack caused; shattered windows, broken doors, distorted furniture, even some of my pack had gotten hurt. But none of that matters except for Carmen. The pack doctor was currently working on her upstairs in our bedroom, and her brother was next in line. I'm not quite sure what happened to him because I ran downstairs after he was on the floor, but my guess is that Carmen hit him down. Sweat was forming on my brow as Taylor, Jered, and Jordan try to help Dylan out of his insanity. "I s-s-saw wolves. They a-a-ttcacked us." He argues as Jered pushes down on his pressure point, making the human go unconscious. He fell to the ground silently as the others sighed in relief. "Dude! Let's get this cleaned up before he wakes up." Jordan suggests to them, looking around at all the mess. They nod their heads in agreement to Jordan and get to work. I block them out as I take a seat on the couch and put my head in my hands.

Man, just go up there and check on her. My wolf orders.

No, the doctor said not to. I argue. My wolf whines at me before I block him out, considering he is no help right now. I sit impatiently on the couch until the doctor finally calls for me from the top of the stairs. I quickly met up with him as he tells me about Carmen's wound. I was anxious to know if my mate was okay, but I would rather see her than hear about her. "She's suffering from loss of blood. She will most likely have a bit of a headache considering this seems to be her first time breaking out into a rage and fighting with major strength. She is slowly becoming more like a wolf and she will be compelled to do the things that we do, she will show more characteristics that we all share. But-" I hold my hand up to stop him from talking as I interrupt. "Will she shift?" I ask him, desperately wanting to know. The doctor shrugs his shoulders, "I'm not sure, there is a slim chance that she will be able to." He says as I imagine Carmen being a wolf. I think of my fragile, sweet Belle having to fight the way that I do. "She's different than most humans. She has wolf blood, but she doesn't show it." The doctor adds.

I nod my head, and walk away from the doctor. I knew he wasn't finished but that was all I needed to know right then. I peak into the bedroom as the figure in the bed shifts just minimally. I fully enter to the room and step over to the bed, seeing my sweet, sweet mate lying on it. Her hair and face were dirty, and there were tear stains on her cheeks.

"You're fine, now. I won't leave you." I whisper kissing her forehead and standing on my knees. Her eyes don't flutter an inch and her body stays completley still. The doctor is now standing behind me with a hand on my shoulder, as I turn to him I can see that his face is mournfoul. ''What's wrong?" I ask him standing up and moving away from the bed. He looks to my queen, than back to me before breaking the news. "She won't wake up."

My body begins to shake as tears build up in my eyes. "What do you mean?!" I say taking a step toward him with my fingers clinched in fists. "She's a human. But unfortunately she was scratched by a werewolf. Her body isn't intirely immune to the poison." He explains calmly.

Who did this to our mate?! I swear I will rip his throat out and feed it to sharks! My wolf yells, enraged. For once I agree with him, and since I know it's not the doctor who did it, I would like to save my energy. The only thing keeping me from punching the wall to bits is that I can't have an outburst like that in front of my mate, even if she's not awake. I take a large breath and turn away from the doctor, feeling my anger turn into sadness. I am losing my mate and for what? Because she tried to save someone's life. Her brother, wasn't it?

"Where is her brother?" I ask, still turned away from the doctor. "The boy is in the other room down the hall. His bottom jaw is broken and he most likely will not be able to talk, or move his mouth in any way." He answers.

I weakly walk down the hall and open the bedroom door. Cameron is sitting upright in Carmen's old bed, watching TV. He is holding a wet rag up to his right cheek and his lips are chapped and smeared with dried blood. He glances at me but doesn't smile or talk. "You know happened to your sister?" I ask rhetorically, building up rage again. He doesn't reply or awknoledge that I just spoke to him. "She's is dying right now because she tried to save you!" I spit the words like poison in my mouth as I walk over to his bedside. He shrugs his shoulders and begins flipping through TV stations. "You don't even care do you? You wanted to protect her? You should have been on her side! Maybe you wouldn't have a broken face right now if you had! Maybe she would be dancing around the room right now! Maybe your little buddy, Dylan wouldn't be traumitized downstairs! Maybe my focus could've been on the attack instead of her!" I yell until I run out of words and I slunk to the ground in pain. "You don't know how much she means to me. But you of all people know how much I have loved her, you know how long I have known she was my mate, but I went through hell because she shut me out. She's finally mine and you know what I get? A knife to the balls and a broken heart. Yeah, that's the pain I'm in right now."

He looks at me and slumps his shoulders. I can see compassion in his eyes as tears leak from mine. "I just want her back." I whisper to myself as my wolf whines in my head.
