Max still couldn't comprehend how she got through the day in her training class. The day dragged on even after they were done with their second set of laps.

After class had ended she wandered around, leaving Luna with a daycare person who cleans the animals every now and then.

She came across this big tree towards the back of the school and with a heavy sigh she sat down. Leaning her head against the tree she thought back to the park and the tree she sat back against to draw her sketches.

Closing her eyes she let the tiredness take over until she felt a tap on her shoulder soon after.

Instantly awake she bolted up her hand formed into a fist and went towards the person in front of her.

"Whoa hello to you to," Jason smiled down at her barely dodging her punch. "May I sit here?" He asked her and before she could reply he sat down next to her anyway.

"Yeah sure you can sit here," she said slightly irritated trying to get up but his hand came down on her's and he pulled her down back to him.

"Stay for a while," he smiled and watched her get comfortable again, "So how was your first day?" She gave him a look before shaking her head.

"You people here are pretty hard core," she said with a small smile as his laughter echoed the empty area. "Yeah I guess you can say we take training really serious." "But why?"

He gave her a weird look before asking, "what do you mean?"

Feeling weird for saying that out loud she tried to elaborate what she didn't mean to say, bringing her knees up for her arms to hug. "I mean what happens after you finish your training, what do you do then?" She asked him looking into his eyes.

His pause was noticeable in their moment of silence but he quickly covered it up with a small smile. "Well I'm not sure if you had noticed but this school isn't the only place here. Beyond the school are towns and villages, where a lot of our people live and work," he said with a shrug smiling at her after a while.

"You're telling me that this isn't in the middle of nowhere alone but it has a whole state in the middle of nowhere," not bothering to hide her surprise her eyes widen at the idea.

"Yes there's more than just this school, where friends and families live. Unless they were like you in which case your family still back there," he nudge her side a bit with his elbow and she quickly did the same back a smile growing on her surprise face. "I find that a bit hard to believe."

His smile widen then and he got up and stood up in front of her. "Well then I guess I'm just going to have to find a way for you to believe."

"Oh come on I want to show you something," he said at the same time he outstretched his hand for her to take. There was a moment none of them moved before she hesitantly took his hand and allowed him to help her up.

When she got up she found herself standing only a foot away from him. Trying not to blush she made a move to put distance between them but he stepped closer instead.

After a moment of them just staring into each other's eyes he finally seemed to blink and smirked a little at their reaction.

"Here follow me."

They turned and walked around and ended up going back inside, standing in front of a lot of flights of stairs.

"You want me to do stairs? And this many? After I shared my pain and tiredness with you?" She looked at him with a sharp glaze and saw him look away slightly his cheeks a little pink before nodding in reply.
