"Sorry don't mean to interrupt but..."
Max turned around from her intense staring/conversation with Luna and couldn't help but smile.
"Hey Rav," she said already on her feet ready to greet him.
"Hey, how you feelin'?"
"A lot better, talk about an ending huh?" Chuckling nervously she threw him a sideways glance and could make out his amused face as he raised his brow.
"Yeah some ending. Really though are you okay?" He asked her again, this time in front of her with his hands on her shoulders, staring intensely into her eyes.
"I'm fine," she replied with a smile but couldn't help but overthink her answer. Am I? After everything I've been through I would be classified as a psychopath back home. Or anywhere.
He waited a few more seconds before he broke out laughing. "Sorry if it made you uncomfortable, I just have one of those good senses were I can tell if someone's lying. You seem good though."
Max stared at anything but him, looking over at Luna as a call for help. This guy can practically see right through me. He did say "I seemed good" but the way he said good was off...
"I like your room," he suddenly said from her bed as he scratched behind Luna's ears, her favorite spot. Luna groan in delight and welcomed the company.
"Thanks a lot," Max glared at Luna and received a wolf wink in return.
"It's your fault, you don't ever do this for me anymore. I always knew I liked that Rav boy. It feels. So. Good!"
"Rav, what's up?" Max finally got the courage to ask, the silence getting to her more and more by the second.
"I actually had a question to ask you," Rav continued petting Luna, refusing to look at her.
Noting the nervousness Max smiled, taking a seat next to him and took his hand in hers. "It's okay. You can tell me. Is it your ex-girlfriend again?"
He blushed red and she couldn't help chuckling, finding that she could get use to the sight.
But she also couldn't help but see how vulnerable he's been ever since they broke up. She knew she needed to be there for him, like he was there for her when she snuck out.
"It's actually... not that," he looked at her before closing his eyes and blurting out his question.
"Do you..."
"Hey Max I was wondering which tux looks better?" Jason burst through but stopped when he saw them together. His eyes narrowed at their enclosed hand and how close they were together.
"Oh, sorry if it's a bad time," he said bitterly already out the door. Max watched him leave and got up with a sigh.
"Hate when he gets like this, I going to try to talk to him. What did you want to tell me?" He laughed almost wholeheartedly and motioned for her to go.
"Nevermind, it's okay. Weirdly enough just being here made my day a lot less depressing, so thank you," he smiled walking her to the door.
A lose strand fell from her ear, covering her face. Curse my hair. She moved her hand to push the strand away but only connected with Rav's hand who was already pushing it back behind her ear. For some weird reason Max couldn't help but blush the same way Rav couldn't help but snicker. Wicked hair.
