"Max wake up...."

Jason. I want to. I want to see you.

Max could feel the pain all over and wanted nothing more than to sleep a little longer. Just a little more.

Jason's voice always stopped her from slipping further in the darkness but the closer she got to the light, the more painful it became. She couldn't see anything but she could hear Jason as if he were standing right there next to her.

Wake up.

Wake up...

Remember the sight of gray eyes. Wake up to them. Wake up for him. You are stronger than this. He's waiting...

Max slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. Her breath quicken as she realized she was no longer in her cell but in a hospital bed. What? Where am I? Is this the Academy? Can't be...

Her eyes drifted to Jason sleeping in a small chair. Looking uncomfortable; his hair was sticking out all over the place, his breathing was fast and he looked ready for a fight. Max's breath caught in her throat and she started to sit up to get a better look.

Gritting her teeth she immediately closed her eyes and felt a hand go in hers.

"You shouldn't be moving to soon."

She opened her eyes to Jason's beautiful gray eyes and couldn't help but smile, a tear rolling down her cheek.

Jason opened his mouth to say something but the nurse chose that moment to walk in.

"Oh good you're up. I figured you would be around this time. You might be in pain for a few days due to slow healing but you are healthy enough, you should get through it," folder in hand the nurse checked Max's pulse and heartbeat before nodding her head.

"A bit faster than normal but understandable so I won't worry too much about that. My main concern is that you needed to eat something. But I'll leave that to Jason," she smiled before walking over to Jason.

"She'll be okay?"

"You worried for not, she will be just fine. You get some rest yourself boy," she said firmly but affectionate before taking her leave.

Max leaned back with a sigh and a small smile.

"How long has it been?"

"Since..."

She opened her eyes then and stared at him. "How long have I been here?"

"Around four days," he said softly but she gave him a look at that. "Huh, it felt longer," was her only reply.

"You gave everyone quite a scare," Jason broke the silence and smiled, moving the chair closer to the bed. Max laugh at that and beamed up at him, "No offense but the nurse didn't make it seem that way."

Jason shrugged then added, "Mainly Luna."

"Only Luna?"

"Fine. I was a little bit worried about you too."

She burst out laughing, leaning her head against the wall. "Aww who knew you were such a softy!"

"Am not!!! I just so happened I was here, in that hospital bed over there, not too long ago so I figured I would stay here to keep the place company. Nothing to do about you," he responded stubbornly but noticed the slight twitch in Max's smile before it was back to her bright smile.

"Lies lies lies. It's quite becoming of a person."

"Should I say the same for you?"

Like that they both went dead quiet, no one willing to speak up first.
