They got in and found other students in the same car, loud and obnoxious. So loud Max contemplated getting out or plugging her ears.
"Sorry, it normally gets really loud. The school pays for the limos so sadly we have to share."
Max froze and turned her glaze from the window to Jason who had a knowing smile.
"Surprise."
Max stared at him as if he had three heads. "How are..."
"I have help. Besides better to talk like this then to not talk right?"
Max smiled and turned to the window to see Luna in raven form flying up to the car. She finally caught up and landed gracefully on the top of the car, mysteriously being able to stay on.
After that the ride got more exciting. Jason mindlinked to Max and she mindlinked to him. They started talking about favorite colors and favorite everythings and then the conversation turned a bit more serious and they gave little glimpses into their families. Max shared about her mother dying, excluding the main details behind it, and Jason shared about his older sister who passed away when she was twelve, and he was only six.
Despite the depressing sad memories they shared and the silly questions asked they both couldn't help but feel like they knew each other a bit better.
Every once and a while the other people in the limo would give them weird looks and she has caught them whispering about them at least twice but she didn't care. She was really enjoying the time she was having with Jason.
"We're here," Jason whispered leaning in close to do so. She looked out the window and notice a building she couldn't help but think looked simply, ordinary compared to the Academy.
"Let's go."
Jason got outside first, holding the door open for Max. Max gave a smile before getting out of the way for the other students only to realized they all went out through the other door.
"Well that's that," Jason smiled and they walked to the building together.
"I didn't really get the opportunity to tell you before but Max, you look absolutely radiant," he stopped walking to smile, taking her hand in his and bringing it up to his lips to kiss it.
Max heard whispers and a few gasps but she couldn't stop her even louder beating heart.
"Don't only couples do that?" She said the first thing that came to mind and immediately felt like hitting her head on a brick wall for being so stupid. Stupid.
"Smooth."
"Shut up Luna," Max replied embarrassed, feeling a heavy blush coming.
"Well you are my date and we are a couple so why not right?" He said it with a smile and then they both froze and looked at each other mortified.
"That's not what I meant..."
"What a thing to say..."
They both said at the same time before they looked away, both of them blushing.
"I meant a couple as in two people, not like a couple couple. Umm should I say pals instead? Or friends? I could simply say date...." Jason rambled on that Max couldn't help but laugh.
"Sorry. Couple's good. We know what it means to us any," Max respond with smile and smiled even wider when Jason blushed. He groaned knowing he was blushing and out of embarrassment turned away fast and took her hand to walk toward the building.
