"So, let me get this straight. . .you let a mermaid princess sneak onto your lion?!"

Keith asked Hunk and Lance, seeming very annoyed and I looked down in shame.

"I am so sorry, I should've asked permission to travel along-"

"It's alright Princess Mīna, why don't we go and pick an appropriate outfit for you?" Princess Allura asked and I nodded, she took me to a separate room and showed me dresses of many kinds.

"That one is very pretty, may I?" I asked and she handed it to me, it was a pink sundress.

Suddenly, after looking how it looked on me in the mirror, red lights started blaring and I ran out to see what was happening.

"Princess! Stay inside!"

Yay! A chance to show my powers!

The mysterious man ran towards me with a blade in his hand and I stood my ground, and took a deep breath.

My blue eyes started to shine a bright silver and golden markings appeared on my arm's, traveling up to my neck and cheeks.

"mul beulleideu!"

I shouted and it sounded echoed as water blades shot at him from my arm's, coming from my markings and some managed to tear his cloth around his mask.

He threw his blade at me and I dodged, only for him to throw Pidge at me and we tumbled to the ground.

"Pidge!" Grayson shouted, coming towards us.

"I'm fine Gray! Just go!" Pidge shouted and he nodded, creating a bow and arrow.

"Princess, what was that?!" Pidge asked.

"A sort of technique. . .I'm one of the very few gifted mer-folk," I groaned, trying to get back up.

More like the only gifted one left.

Jinx ran at him with her weapon and wrapped it around him, throwing him into the wall.

Just as he got up, Four rammed her fist into the side of his face and he staggered and tried to run, until Shiro's hand stopped him, only inches away from his throat. Jinxs' chain around his neck carefully, and Fours' blades pointing to his back.

Wow, so well coordinated.

They look so much like a family fighting like that.

"Princess, are you okay?" Lance asked, helping me up just as my markings started to fade away.

"Yes, thank you Lance, and no need to be so formal, Mīna is just fine," I informed him.

"That was cool, what you did back there. What was that anyway?" Lance asked and I felt my cheeks heat up at his compliment.

"It's a gift from our goddess, Mimoray. When a mermaid or merman is born, she'd only gift the ones that were worthy of her, who'd make a difference."

But why would she gift someone like me? A spoiled rotten princess?

"Mīna, you mustn't be exposed to danger. I'll take you to your room," Four had me leave the room and into mine.

Before she left, I grabbed her wrist and she looked back at me.

"You're related to those two, aren't you? I saw your movements, how in sync you all were together. You're their da-"

"We just happened to work out a plan beforehand, Mīna. In no way am I their daughter."

For a fighter such as yourself, you're a terrible liar.

I let myself drift off to sleep on my new bed.

"Hello Princess Mīna."

My eyes snapped open and I was in mermaid form, I floated above the ground.

"Who's there?!" I shouted.

"I am Iris Jade, you may know that my daughter is Jinx Jade."

I gasped and frantically looked around but couldn't find anyone in sight.

"But how? Didn't you-?"

"Yes, my love Zarkon had killed me. But I asked him to."

"What? Why?" I asked, getting curious.

"Because he'd rather have me dead then suffer. I asked him to not force our children to do anything they didn't want to. . .but he did not listen," Her voice was filled with sorrow and grief.

"Wait, children? Jinx isn't an only child?"

"I'm afraid not, she had a brother who hated her with his very heart. He was greedy and ungrateful to all. I actually had faith in him."

"What's his name?" I asked, still trying to see her.

"Lotor."
