Jinx

I cuddled into the blanket of my bed, tossing and turning, but making sure to be careful.

"I'll never leave you, I promise."

Shiro?

"Jinx Jade, will you make me the happiest man in the universe, and marry me?"

"SHIRO!" I gasped out, gripping the sheets as I breathed in and out. Sweat dripped down my face as I frantically looked around the room, searching for him.

He's gone. . .

It was just a bad dream. . .

A bad dream I'll have to live with for the rest of my life.

Depression had fallen over me in the past month and I cried endlessly, especially when I was alone.

Tears trailed down my cheeks as I walked out of my room, looked around the hallway, and seeing that everyone is asleep, I snuck off.

I know that he won't be there, but I can't sleep.

Touching the Black Lion, it opened and I dragged my blanket inside before shutting the doors and sitting down in the very seat he disappeared in.

"I know I'm not a Paladin, but. . .I wish I could find him with you," I spoke to Blackie as I leaned back in the chair, the comfort of his warmth still there.

"I love you, Shiro. We won't forget the sacrifices you've made for them, for us," I whispered into the darkness.

"I love you too."

"Huh?!" Gasping, I looked around, but as always, found no one and my hope started to fade faster and faster each second.

Just sleep, this is the only place where nightmares can't reach me.

"Jinx, wake up. You can't keep sleeping here, it's bad for your back," Keith's voice woke me up and he saw my bloodshot eyes.

"Jinx, come on. It's not good for you, nor the baby," Sighing in defeat, I didn't feel like fighting him today and got up, but stumbled.

Keith luckily caught me and held me up by my arms before carrying me bridal style.

"Jinx, if I have to force you to eat, I won't hesitate. Shiro wouldn't want you to suffer, he'd want you and the baby to live on," His words started poking at my stiff heart.

Leading me to the dining room table, he gently set me down on a chair and headed towards the kitchen.

Keith's right, Shiro would want what's best for the baby and I.

I'm such an idiot, God, I'm a terrible mother!

I've been putting us through Hell!

"Jinx! What's wrong?!" Keith ran in, practically throwing the food on the table as he tended to me.

"Y-You're right, Keith. I can't keep doing this to my baby. I'm already a terrible mother!" I sobbed.

Curse my mood swings!

"Hey, hey, Jinx, look at me. You're nowhere near a terrible person, let alone mother. Our friends and I are going to help you through this, all of us. You don't need to put yourself through this," He wiped my tears away and I nodded, hugging him.

*kick*

"Oh, sorry. Baby loves to kick," I giggled, grabbing the food and eating it.

But, Keith didn't leave, he only stared at my small baby bump with wonder in his purple eyes.

"You wanna feel for Baby?" I asked, snapping him out of his gaze and he turned pink.

"What? N-no, I don't. . .Okay, yes-wait, 'Baby'? That's its name?"

"We don't know the gender yet, so Baby," I shrugged, putting my food down and turning so I faced Keith.

Grabbing his hand, he bent down and I put his hand on my belly. Carefully, he moved closer to me and felt around my belly for Baby.

*kick* *kick*

"Whoa, heheh. Baby likes me," He chuckled, and in his eyes, I saw wonder, curiosity, joy, and. . .love.

Oriana and Keith, two lost pieces of a puzzle that are bent, snapped and broken, but will make it work.

"What? You want a baby now too?"

Oriana smirked, standing at the doorway and he blushed, quickly standing up.

"I'll take care of Jinx, you go," Oriana insisted and he left.

"The ring. . .you're wearing it?" She asked, looking at my hand to find the engagement ring on my finger.

"I'm Jinx Shirogane now, and if he comes back or not, I'm not sure anymore, but I'm a Hybrid, and for as long as I can remember, everyone has told me to be proud of that. This ring, it shows me that he loved me for me. This baby is going to need the strongest mother it can get," I proclaimed proudly.

"And Baby is lucky that it got you, Jinx. Finish eating, Allura and Iris want you in the main room."

Finishing up my food, I spent some time feeling around for Baby, and sure enough, Baby was kicking around.

*kick* *kick*

"You're going to be a lively one, just like your daddy," Grinning happily, I got up and pushed in my chair before going to my mother and best friend.
