"Quit your stuttering!" Haggar snapped at me and I flinched but nodded.

"Haggar, perhaps your student isn't capable enough for this."

"Shut it, she's stronger then you! Jae, prove him wrong!" I didn't do well under pressure but with what they've done to me, I'm sure to not make any mistakes.

My eyes glowed yellow, yes, I let them put Galran blood inside me, only to be like them! And chanted the spell that should heal Zarkon.

"Rayonaskai buvzhiĺ!" I yelled, holding my hand out in front of me and a red circle appearing at my feet with ancient writing and it's energy made me feel so strong!

"I feel nothing-"

"It only gives energy to the person standing on it. It would certainly be foolish to let the energy spread to others, what if it spread to the Paladins? Atleast I've thought that through," I showed off.

"Great demonstration Jae, now, I need to know what Grayson is thinking," She still wasn't convinced that my brother was a traitor.

"She's so beautiful, nothing like the other girls on Earth, she's different. . .do I have a crush on Pidge? Oh my god, I do! Wait, stay cool Gray, stay cool."

"That traitor!" She shouted, so angry that she slapped me across the face, but I hid the pain.

"Leave! Now! Gather more intell, if you can."

Even after all I've done, she's still giving all her attention towards him.

"That girl? Was she your girlfriend?" Pidge asked, putting on her helmet before the next mission.

"Sort of."

"What do you mean by that?" She urged on.

"She's dead."

"What?! Oh my god, Gray, I'm so sorry!" She immediately apologized, her cheeks pink, flustered and embarrassed that she asked questions that led to this discovery.

"It's fine, she died peacefully."

Please don't ask how she died.

"I lost my dad and brother during the Curberos mission, I haven't found them but I'm positive I will. You're not the only one who's lost someone Gray, we're here for you."

Don't talk like that.

You're so damn careless.

"I'll join you."

"What?"

"On your mission, it's the least I could do and you might need some backup," I was lying and she most likely knew it.

"Oh, okay, I'll just tell Shiro." She walked off and I sighed, remembering the day Lauren died. . .for me.

"Lauren! Get out of here, you weren't supposed to come with me!" She had followed me onto the pod to space and got experimented like we did.

"Kill her." Zarkon commanded and when I reached for her, Jae held me back with her magic.

"Jae! Please don't let them do this, please!" I yelled, but she wouldn't listen to me. No one would.

"AAAAAHHHH!"

Her screams echoed through my ears and mind, the pain of watching it was so unbearable that even I started to feel like someone stabbed me in the gut.

A spear went through her chest, but it was made of ice.

I killed her.

It was all my fault.

Tears cascaded down my cheeks like an endless river, my screams of pain and demands that she be brought back were so loud and they ripped through my throat like nothing, I felt like my father, who I always hated with every fiber in my being because of what he did to my mom.

He made everyday a living hell for her. He'd do whatever he wanted with her and just left her there like trash, one day he decided he was done with her, deciding she wasn't a necessary person and ended it, but not through divorce.

In his own way.

Which was the worst thing a human could ever do.

"Gray? Gray? Gray!"

Shaking myself from my thoughts, I looked towards Pidge who was calling out to me, pulling me out of those nightmares I once knew as reality.
