Jinx
"Whoa. . .Pidge, you're awesome at this!" Gray smiled as Pidge fixed yet another alien device.
"The tech on this ship never ceases to amaze me, it's so mathematically elegant! It's beautiful!" Pidge sighed blissfully and I chuckled.
Hasn't changed a bit.
"And thanks Gray, but if you don't mind, can I study your magicks a bit more?" Pidge asked through the com unit.
"I don't know Pidge. . ." Gray seemed uncomfortable with it.
"Later then?" She asked.
"Sure, why not," I could tell he was only doing this to make her happy, having a crush can do that to you.
"Haha-! No-wah! JINX, YOUR BOYFRIEND IS BEING SO UNFAIR RIGHT NOW!" Hunk whined through the com and I raised my brow, hearing stuff being thrown and went outside to speculate what was going on.
"What do you me-? Mm!" Something was thrown in my face and everyone froze.
"Oops, sorry babe-gah!" I threw a much bigger one at him, causing him to stagger back and everyone tried to contain their laughter.
"Oops," I teased back.
"Oh, it's on Jade," He grinned.
"Bring it, Shirogane."
We all ended up throwing them at eachother, smiling and laughing. I loved doing this mostly because it made me feel like a kid again.
"I don't think these are asteroids, this glowing isn't natural. Coran, I'm gonna need a containment unit," Pidge grabbed one of the spores and put it in.
"If anyone can figure it out, it's you Pidge," I threw another at him and I giggled.
"Before that, everyone needs to come in for decontamination," Allura explained and I washed myself in my bathroom.
As the hot water ran over me, I let my long hair hang over my face and my hand touched my right hip. . .where my branding is.
Zarkon branded me with a mark when I was little. . .I can still remember the pain.
It hurt me so much.
It's a black lion tattoo that Zarkon had branded onto me as a reminder who the Black Paladin truly was. . .
"Jinx? Pidge just found-what is that?"
I heard Shiro when he came in and immediately turned my body away, the curtains were somewhat see through so he could see it on my hip.
"N-nothing!" I lied.
"You're a terrible liar Jinx, what is it?" He repeated and I sighed.
"Give me the towel."
He handed it to me and I wrapped it around myself, getting out and looking down as I stood in front of him.
"It's a brand that Zarkon had put on me when I was a child, telling me who the Black Paladin would always be," His eyes were stuck on my towel covered hip.
"Can I see it?" I loved how polite he was being right now, though I could hear how hurt he was in his voice.
I silently nodded and moved my towel a bit from my right hip so he could see it, he let out a small gasp.
He moved his hand towards me to touch it but reluctantly pulled back till I snatched his wrist and he looked at me.
"It's okay." I whispered.
He ran his hand over it, the scars still there and one scar ran over its eye so it looked blind from one eye.
"Jinx. . .I had no idea that he did this to you," His voice was pained as he hugged me and I hugged him back, thankful he wasn't wearing his armor.
"I wish you met my mother Shiro, she was an amazing woman. She would've loved you," I whimpered, since my mom was a sensitive topic to talk about.
He gently grabbed my chin and had me look at him, I smiled and he leaned in so I closed my eyes and-
"Jinx! Allura wishes to see you!"
Mīna shouted from outside the door and I sighed, wishing she didn't interrupt.
"I'll be right there!" I shouted back and she left.
"If you ever need to talk, I'm right here, okay?" He asked and I nodded, pecking his cheek before he walked out and I got dressed.
Even after all this time, after everything we've been through, I can still feel my mothers presence. As if she's watching over me.
"Great job Pidge, Coran, put the coordinates into the ships' navigation system." Four spotted me.
"We found-"
"Coordinates to the Alkari, home to the Alkarins. Yeah, kind of figured that out on my own," She nodded.
Everyone went to their stations and I followed Shiro into his lion, sharpening my weapon.
"They had a magical ability to bend metal at their will. With just a wave of their hands, they could build a computer inside a block of steel," Allura informed the team.
"Wow," Pidge breathed in awe.
"And they once gave me this," Coran showed his little toy.
"What is it?" Lance asked.
"Uh, it's a floating cube. Watch this, my name is Coran and I'm a gorgeous man."
"My name is Coran and I'm a gorgeous man."
Pidge's eyes looked like they were sparkling and I smiled at this.
I hissed at a burning sensation in my hip, my eyes widened and I looked at it. The lion was glowing a furious red and I gasped out in pain.
"Jinx? Something the matter?"
"N-no-agh! Ah!" I shouted, collapsing to my knees and everyone ran to me.
"The branding. . .take her to the healing pods!" Allura commanded and Shiro picked me up bridal style.
"What's happening?!-gah!" I cried out, tears stinging in my eyes.
"That branding wasn't just a reminder Jinx, it brings you burning pain, and Haggar is the reason for it."
Damn witch!
Jae
Hehehe.
"I see you're doing well Jae," Haggar smirked and I smiled as the gems floating around me. My black hair floating as well.
"All thanks to you. . .mother."
