An alarm sounded off throughout the castle and I made my way into the main corridor to check it out.

"What's going on?" Keith wondered aloud.

"Yeah, that's never gone off before!" Pidge added and the second I recognized that signal, my heart started picking up it's pace.

That's an Altean distress signal, but how?!

"Allura, Jinx, what is it?" Lance asked, seeing our shocked yet hurt facial expressions. Holding my hands to my chest, I could feel my heart racing and racing, showing no signs of stopping.

"You guys look like you've just seen a ghost."

"That's just the thing, it's an old Altean distress code, one used by King Alfors' ships," Coran started typing away at the keyboard, trying to figure out what's going on.

(Coran keeps autocorrecting to 'Clean' omfg)

"Could it be? Are we not the last Alteans alive after all?" Allura's voice filled up with hope and faith, but Baby started kicking left and right, as if anxious about it.

"Wait, what if someone's cloning the signal to lure us in?" Keith took out the hope in heart by replacing it with realization.

"Keith is right, Allura. It's been ten thousand years, the Galra could've perfected this-"

"This signal is from an Altean ship, and we are going to find it. Jinx, why are denying this?" She turned her attention towards me, making all eyes look at me.

"It's just that Keith could be right. We can't get our hopes up too high, I say we stay here."

"Jinx Jade, I have a feeling that you think this something that-"

"I just don't want to think it's going to be Shiro, okay?!" Letting that out, I suddenly felt winded and heaved in and out.

"Jinx-" I shook Lances' hand off my shoulder.

"Don't comfort me just because you can't smooch your girlfriend anymore, okay?" His eyes widened at my sudden harshness and he took a few steps away from me.

"I-I'm sorry. . ." Trailing off, I ventured around the castle, trying to get my mind off of things.

What was I thinking? I knew how sensitive Lance was about the breakup!

Slamming my fist into the wall, my hand went through it and I felt paper brush against my knuckles.

"Huh?" Grabbing it out, I opened it up and saw it's a letter!

Zarkon, this is a letter from your dearest Iris, your first wife.

I know you think that having two wives is fine, mostly because that is the culture of Galra men, but I don't think she loves you like I do. She's a mad woman, and she threatened to kill me and the baby.
