"what are you doing outside of class?" jennie asked me and tilted her head.

"uh... i arrived late," i explained and looked down to avoid her gaze.

"and mrs. herrera kicked you out?"

i shook my head and earned myself a chuckle from the other girl. "then, why are you still standing outside of class?"

"i don't know..."

"are you afraid of her scolding you?"

"no... it's not that i'm scared. it's that i don't usually arrive late to class."

"do you want me to walk in and distract her for you?"

this whole time, i had been staring at her feet, but her words captured my attention and brought me to look up. "what?" i asked like a dumb ass. jennie kim was not one to be nice to someone for no reason.

"i said, do you want me to walk in and distract her for you?" she repeated her sentence and chuckled.

"really?"

"sure, anything for a cute girl like you." with that, she winked and my eyes widened at her statement.

it was sunny day and light came in from the windows, but the lights in the corridor weren't on so it was sort of dim. yet, she still managed to catch a sight of my pink cheeks. jennie revealed her rare smile and slightly pinched my cheek. "why haven't we talked before, you adorable bean?" she said before letting go of my cheek. "once i give you a signal, walk in quickly and go to your place, alright?"

i nodded and watched as she walked in the classroom filled with students.
