a/n: a chap in jennie's pov!!

the hallway was empty. not surprising since school was already over. i wouldn't even be here if it weren't for that stupid spanish project... at least i had a hot partner... who was already 7 minutes late. i took out my phone to text her when i saw her. or rather them.

he had one arm around and they looked like those typical hollywood movie couples walking out of a cliché high schools. they looked like they were in love and there was nothing in the world that could ruin their happiness.

ugh. it made me sick. lovey dovey wasn't my thing.

i continued to lean on my bike as i waited for jisoo with a poker face. her gaze met mine and her smile faded a little. "you're late." i said as she came in front of me with mino.

"sorry, mino had to talk to the teacher after class and i wanted to wait for him since he's new."

"and? we have work to do. you are aware that this project is worth 30% right? and that we'll have to work together for the next two months on this... and here i thought you were the nerdy one."

she looked down and looked a little hurt by my words. seeing her hurt made me feel this weird feeling. it was like my heart was... throbbing? what the fuck was this? in that moment, my brain was not controlling my heart and all i wanted to do was hug the older girl and tell her i was sorry for being cold, but i didn't.

i clenched my jaw when i noticed mino rubbing circles on her back. he still hadn't said anything. why hadn't he? shouldn't he at least defend her or something? so instead of standing there awkwardly, i spoke up. "why aren't you defending her? what kind of boyfriend are you?"

"aren't you her girlfriend while i'm her side dude?"

right. she was my 'girlfriend'. i only meant it as a joke when i said that and the side chick thing was also just to tease her because she was so cute and i missed her. who knew she had such an effect on me. i save her from arriving late one class and now i have feelings?

"get in, jisoo." i avoided his question and opened the door for her. even though i was upset, i still had manners.

"why are you driving your car today? where's your bike?" she asked once we were in my bedroom

"my leg still hurts from yesterday's race and when i sit on my bike, it hurts more than when i'm sitting on a car seat."

"you got injured again?" she looked at me still standing while i was sitting on my chair to start working.

i nodded and chuckled. "that guy was so pissed off about losing to a girl. he threw his beer bottle at me. i dodged it by running aside, but my leg was still in the way."

"where?" she sat down on the chair next to me.

i pointed to my right thigh. obviously, she couldn't see my injury since i had jeans over. "can i see it?" she asked.

i raised an eyebrow. "you are aware i need to take off my pants for you to see it right?" i chuckled. "is this your way of saying you want me to strip?"

she blushed madly and shook her head furiously. "no no no! i-i-i-i just wanted t-t-to check if-if you hurt yourself badly."

i smiled at how her cheeks had reddened on the spot and went to my wardrobe. i took out a pair of short black athletic shorts. "wait here." i told her and she nodded.

i went into the bathroom and came back with shorts on, revealing my bandaged thigh. "i put a bandage on this time."

"what the hell?! how did a beer bottle do that?" the shattered glass from the bottle has made several cuts over the surface of my thigh and the several red spots on the white gauze made it look like there was some bear that attacked my leg.

"calm down, princess. it's not as bad as you think."

she glared at me. oops, i forgot. she didn't want me to call her princess. to my surprise, that wasn't what she brought up. "i'm coming with you next time you drag race."

"uh, i don't think so."

"yes, i will. i'll keep an eye on you. who knows how you'll get injured next. your life isn't a joke jennie."

"look, i'll be more careful if that's what you want, but there is no way in hell i'm bringing to a drag race where you could get hurt."
