lisa, chaeyoung, bobby and i walked in the huge house party at around 7 o'clock and the place was already crowded. i didn't know whose house this was, but i knew it probably belonged to one of the popular kids.

we headed to the living room to living room to just sit down for a while and chill before doing anything else. bobby went to talk to his friends while i stuck with my best friend and her girlfriend of a month. i was talking with a classmate of mine when i saw her.

it wasn't that i hadn't seen for a long while; i saw her every week in spanish class, but she never stopped to amaze me with her visuals every time my eyes landed on her. she was leaning on the wall and was sipping on her red solo cup. she was also talking to a classmate (i presume)... well she wasn't the one talking.

she seemed somewhat distracted by something. her brown eyes were stuck something in front of her while the person who was talking to her stood next to her. i turned around to look behind to see what she was looking at, but my eyes met a beige wall with nothing special on it.

"she's staring at you, jichu." my best friend told me.

"what?"

"jennie. you're trying to figure out what she's staring at and that's you."

"i wasn't--"

"stop, i'm your best friend. i know you better than your own brother."

"was i that obvious, chaeng?"

she chuckled. "no, i'm just an observant person and i happen to be your best friend."

i nodded. "why is she staring at me though?"

"well, she isn't anymore."

i looked at where jennie previously stood, but didn't meet her figure anywhere. instead, my eyes greeted a crowd of people from school and students i recognized were from sm high and jyp high.
