Standing Up

The next few days Maya noticed a change in Riley and instantly knew that the rumors and the bullying that as now been happening recently to them has now begun to effect Riley even though Riley tried to hide it Maya saw the way Riley acted when she saw the whispers. Maya talked to Mr. Matthews before class started that Riley and her won't be able to attend class because Riley's not feeling well and she needs to take care of Riley.

"Thanks for telling me, Maya. I'll make sure to tell Farkle to give you and Riley your assignment. Call me or Topanga on how Riley is doing. Are you sure you don't want to drop off Scott? You know Topanga wouldn't mind taking care of him." Cory said and Maya nodded, "It's okay, Matthews and I'll make sure to call either of you if anything happens." Maya said and walks out of the classroom and texted Farkle, Zay, Chai, Smackle, and Lucas that she's coming over to their apartment for she's needs to talk to them immediately. Zay responded and said okay.

Maya went back to the dorm and saw Riley and Scott both sleeping. Maya then headed out to the apartment hoping to make it before either of them woke up. Maya arrived to the apartment and unlocked it with the extra key they were given and saw that they we're sitting in the living room waiting for her. Smackle looked up and saw Maya enter the room.

"Maya, what's wrong your text looked important. Is everything okay?" Smackle asked as everyone is wondering the same. Maya looked at everyone and they knew from the expression on Maya face that it was bad.

"Guys, I need to take care of these rumors and bullying that is now happening! Riley, can't take anymore of it. Just like I thought from the beginning so it needs to come to an end." Maya said, "Maya, I hate seeing Riley all sad. But Riley said to ignore it..." Lucas responded and received a angry glare.

"I'm not going to ignore it anymore! I didn't even want to ignore it in the first place I  wanted to get rid of it but Riley said for all us to just ignore it. But look what's happened since we decided to! Theirs more rumors and we're now getting bullied and Riley barely wants to leave the dorm! Not to mention Riley doesn't want to bring Scott out in the commons for he might hear what all the students are saying and notice the looks that he and Riley will receive." Maya replied as she paced back and forth.

"So, what do you suggest we all do to stop this?" Chai asked, "Stand up." Zay said gaining their attention. "What do you mean, Zay?" Lucas asked. "Riley, said to just ignore them when we really should stand up to them and tell them that their opinions don't matter. Maya, you and Riley both know that even though your young and are married as well as have a kid. You and Riley know that you can handle it and the rest of us can tell as well." Zay explained.

"Zay right we shouldn't stay silent and give them the satisfaction of them to just keep on saying rumors like they know us. We were taught to stand up to what we believe in and I believe that I'm not going to be silent anymore." Maya said determined, "So what's the plan?" Farkle asked.

"Stand up! Confront them!" Maya said and existed the apartment with the rest of them following Maya and Farkle texting Riley to meet them at the common rooms and bring Scott for its urgent.

They all arrived to the common room and Maya was shocked to see Riley and Scott in the common room.

"Honey, what are you doing here?" Maya asked confused to see Riley and then noticed the looks and whispers once again. Maya then saw Riley face and she knew now was the moment to stand up. Maya stood up on top of the table gaining some attention and confused looks.

"Listen up! For the past few weeks their have been rumors and recent bullying towards Riley and I and that's just because of us being married and having a son! All those rumors of saying that I married Riley out of pity, that will be horrible parents, are marriage will fall apart, us being married too young, and that we don't know what we're doing! Well here's what I think about the rumors! Your right that Riley and I are too young to be married and having a son. But it doesn't matter to us because even though we're young we know what true love is." Maya jumps of the table and walks towards Riley and Scott.

Maya held puts her hand and Riley grabs and then pick up Scott and side hugs, "All of you think that we don't know what love is just because we're young. Well here's what I think. Riley always sees the best in people, and never gives up hope. She taught me that hope isn't for suckers, and I should never give up hope. I'm glad I didn't. Because, not only is Riley my safe place but she's my hope. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I'm with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that's, that's what I think is love. When I'm better because she's here." Maya said as she looked at everyone in the room.

"Riley makes me smile more than anyone does. I can be myself with her. We known each other are whole lives, anytime I'm with her or think about her I get this feeling inside me, it's like a light comes in. I always get lost in her beautiful chocolate brown eyes." Maya explained as she looked at Riley who smiled softly at Maya and the two shared a kiss.

Maya then faced the students who have been quite, "Riley and I are still learning about taking care of Scott but we know that we're a doing a good job. All I know is that are marriage will survive and we're learning to become parents along the way! So make fun of us or whatever because we know that it's not true and nothing can tear us apart!" Maya said determined it was silent when a student started clamping and more students joined in at the clamping.

Maya and Riley smiled and shared a kiss and both kissed Scott on the forehead who smiled. Maya and Riley knew that everything was going to be okay.
