Chapter 78

For the next month everyone who knew about Joshua Blake was in bad shape. Markel had teamed up with CIA to crack down on the whole organization and had even brought Daniel in to be questioned. Alicia Blake went on about her daily activities as if nothing was wrong so that she didn't set off any smoke signals even though every second was hell as she tried to hold back anger.

Alicia Blake's POV

I still felt betrayed by the man I loved for 28 years. It wasn't even the fact that he hurt others but he destroyed the life of my daughter's, my only child. How could he mentally torture her like that?

Mr. Blake: "Hey sweetie," he came into the kitchen and kissed my cheek.

Mrs. Blake: "Good morning honey."

Mr. Blake: "I have to be in the office all day baby."

Mrs. Blake: "We have company coming over later. Did you forget?"

He sighed.

Mr. Blake: "I did. Can you send my regards. I'll make up for it I promise."

Mrs. Blake: "Fine Joshua."

He kissed me and left. I started prepping dinner for later. My phone started ringing and I paused, putting the knife down that I had in my hand.

Yn: "Hey mommy!"

Mrs. Blake: "Good afternoon sweetie."

Yn: "What are you doing?"

Mrs. Blake: "Cooking for tonight."

Yn: "Tonight?"

Mrs. Blake: "Oh dear. I meant to tell you that the Obama's were visiting."

Yn: "Oh really? Alex and I were going to come over but if you have guest..."

Mrs. Blake: "No. Come. I'm sure Sasha would love to see you and of course Barack and Michelle."

Yn: "Okay. Will do. What are you cooking?"

Mrs. Blake: "I am preparing my lovely grilled chicken top with my sweet raspberry sauce, garlic butter asparagus, and mashed potatoes."

Yn: "Yes! Sounds so good!"

We both laughed.

Yn: "Where is dad?"

Mrs. Blake: "Office all day."

Yn: "Good. I just can't do it mom." She sounded so heartbroken.

Mrs. Blake: "I know. It's hard for me too but soon it will be over."

Yn: "I'm praying for just that."

Mrs. Blake: "Want to make dessert?"

Yn: "Sure. What would you like?"

Mrs. Blake: "Whatever your heart desires. Actually is it possible to host this dinner at your home?"
