I woke up, to the familiar smell of hospital. The light was blinding. I sat up, noticing the tubes in my arms. There was one connected to my mouth, i ripped it off. There were many machines connected to me. I only recognized one of them. And it was the one pumping medicine into me.
The room was almost purely white. From the walls to the sheets. The door slid open, and a nurse in a white gown, carrying a clipboard walked in. She had brown hair and dark skin. She looked up from the clipboard, almost dropping it and gasped.
"Excuse me maam." i said throwing the sheets off of me to reveal the hideous hospital gown. "What happened?'
She shook her head and walked over to me, setting the clipboard down on the table and started looking at the monitors.
"You um... you passed out and...." she didn't finish, she continued looking at the data on the screen.
I looked at the paper. The date was January 15 2056. Good, i was only out for two weeks, but she had the year wrong.
I looked at the wall in front of me, it was almost mirror like, i looked exactly the same. My brown hair was halfway down to my waist, and by blue eyes looked back at me. My skin was paler than ever, i needed to get out and get some sun.
I looked to the woman to tell her she had made a mistake with the date.
"You have the year wrong, its 2016."
She looked at me, she froze. "No, it is 2056."
I looked at her for a second. Was this a prank?
She saw the confusion on my face and took out the tubes connected to my wrist. "Sweetheart, you've been in a coma for 40 years."
